Friday Night WrestleMania XXX Wagering At The 5Dimes Sportsbook

Here's a quick summary of what happened overnight at 5Dimes.eu

  • The Shield's odds to win against the New Age Outlaws & Kane moved from -1700 and is now marked at -4500 (1/17 UK). As a result of the change, their opponents are now +1500 (16.00 EU, 15/1 UK). This is an increase from +800.
  • In a post published last night, I noted how the odds for the Vickie Guerrero Invitational were closing in to being a near pick 'em. Since that time, the odds have separated out. AJ Lee's price moved from -130 to -350 (1.29 EU, 2/7 UK). 'The Field', made up of every other participant in the match, went from -110 to +250 (3.50 EU, 5/2 UK).
  • Daniel Bryan's odds on winning the Triple Threat Qualifier against Triple H moved from -4500 to -16000 (1/160 UK). In the same period, Triple H's price moved from +1500 to +4000 (41.00 EU, 40.1 UK)
  • Out of the five possible ways to wager on the Triple Threat match, Triple H's odds were the only ones to change. In last night's observation, I noted he was marked up as a +4000 underdog. Since that time, his price has risen to +6000 (61.00 EU, 60/1 UK)
  • The Undertaker, who had been -7500 since Thursday afternoon, moved to -16000 (1/160 UK) with Brock Lesnar drifting out from +2500 to +4000 (41.00 EU, 40/1 UK)

It's hard to determine whether the current trend that had seen the eventual winner being backed heavily on a Friday night has occurred this month.

Even though the odds have changed strongly for some of the bouts, I think this movement has more to do with fans wagering on obvious winners this time around.

I write this because the price for John Cena versus Bray Wyatt has remained stationary since yesterday morning. This could be due to the punters wagering on both sides and creating a balance of sorts. It could also mean the insiders have left it alone until the finish is concrete.

We'll find out soon enough.

Odds correct as of 9am BST. For the latest, check out the betting board at 5Dimes.eu

  1. There has actually been a change on the initial ruling odds...both for Bryan/Triple H and surprisingly Cena/Wyatt for this match the odds for initial ruling changed by considerable amount Cena +350 to +600 and Wyatt -550 to -1200 but the end of broadcast remain the same as before.

    1. I don't track the initial ruling for one simple reason.

I' think it's easier for the readers if I write about the prices that are in line with the rules at all sportsbooks. As other books settle on the end of broadcast ruling, I have chosen to record them this way.

Initial ruling numbers are often nice prices but due to them going up later, you can't really draw anything from them other than the punter liking the number and betting on it.

End of broadcast ruling is far easier, in my opinion.

  2. Also to point out i dont think the odds have changed due to fans betting because for instance The Shield went from -1200 to -4500 which is a huge move and also both undertaker and bryan (bryan/tripe h) are now -16000

    1. I cannot go all-in and say that the smart money has moved the numbers until I am convinced it has happened.

Until the entire board moves one way, I'll remain on the fence.

  3. I think this is the only time ive seen odds on 5Dimes where the initial ruling is as far apart compared to the end of broadcast....i dnt think ppl in there right mind would bet on that as much for the odds to change that big!!! David if you've got any instances where the intial ruling has been higher than end of broadcast coild you please share with us!

    1. As I don't keep tabs on initial ruling, I can't.

Like I mentioned above, the initial ruling odds often appear later in the betting period so they don't usually indicate that much, to be honest.

I can't even think of a recent pay-per-view where the first call has been reversed. The only ones I can think of are the two from WrestleMania XXVII but they don't count. as the 'End of broadcast' ruling wasn't used by 5Dimes back then.
