Last night's double disqualification in the WWE Intercontinental Championship match at Battleground caused minor confusion to some punters.
I had a few messages on Twitter and left on the blog last night and early today asking how I would have settled it and the answer is exactly how the bookies did.
All the bookmakers over here in Europe settle on the official result that is published on World Wrestling Entertainment's website. I know that 5Dimes.com does not have this rule, but would be surprised if the company graded a winner in that mess of a finish.
The WWE Twitter account added to the confusion by announcing that 'it appears (The Miz) has been counted out, but Darren Young has him locked in!' That wasn't the first time the WWE Twitter handle wasn't in sync with the website Although, it could be argued that the tweet wasn't giving an official ruling.
If anything ever happens like this again, and I am sure it will, the rule of thumb should always be to wait and see what the result is on the official website because that's what nearly every bookmaker will refer to for settlement purposes.
I bet with sports interaction and they state that they made payouts with Miz as winner. I have made a case and sent them a link to the official result from wwe.com and they have passed it to upper management for review. Will keep you posted on the outcome
ReplyDeletePlease do. I'm interested to see how the 'foreign' bookmakers settle ambiguous finishes.
DeleteI got a response back stating that they confirmed the bet would be void due to the double dq and refunded the bet amount. Thanks again for all your support with this great site
DeleteThank you for the update and kind words.
DeleteWith Mybookie pulling this crap, do you know of any sportbooks that allow US players besides for bovada and 5dimes?
ReplyDeleteThere's none that I can recommend other than the two mentioned.
DeletePlease can you send me the message that has been sent to you as I want to see what they write so I can put something up on here?
