Addressing The Cesaro/Sheamus Ruling

A couple of visitors have been worried about not being paid by 5Dimes.com now that the Cesaro versus Sheamus Best-of-Seven series has been ruled a tie.

In a post published on Monday morning, I noted that 5Dimes had apparently told one of its customers that the market would be graded on the night of No Mercy on October 9th. As this is a Smackdown PPV, the card wouldn't have had a Cesaro .vs. Sheamus bout anyway. However, a replay of match seven could have taken place on the two Raws that were sandwiched in between Clash of Champions and the Smackdown special event.

On Monday's edition of Raw, Mick Foley announced that the series was officially ruled a tie. This has prompted people to expect their bets to have been settled now. Had I placed a wager on the outright, I too would have expected a settlement following Foley's ruling but I know in the long-run the bet will end up being cancelled due to the Cesaro/Sheamus angle moving in a different direction as a tag team.

I have contacted 5Dimes and noted that the series was deemed a tie. I don't know if it will make much difference me doing this as the sportsbook has already stated they'll grade the market in less than two weeks. The Foley ruling came after the staff noted October 9th, so there's a slight chance that it's graded sooner. I'll post any updates below.

I know it isn't much but I believe it's safe to state that, whenever the market is graded, it'll be classed as cancelled.

    1. If they're sticking by the November 9th date, you'll just have to wait. You'll get your stake back because:

      1)The result is a draw
2)Sheamus and Cesaro are now a tag team
      3) Sheamus and Cesaro are not on Smackdown so won't be on the No Mercy card

What would make this easier is if WWE put something on its website stating that Mick Foley ruled the series a draw. There is nothing on there that I can find to try and make a case.

    2. For the record - Sam just put a link to the Raw video.

Sam, have you showed this to 5Dimes?

    3. Yes!.. I spoke to probably 7 different people there.. walked the supervisor thru the website.. said there is nothing anyone can do.. a "3rd Party" grades the bets... if wanted a grade earlier I have to contact Tony the GM but he is only available on chat and he doesn't answer calls.. but also doesn't have a set schedule so you have to keep trying.. so idk what else to do?.. I guess I don't understand what October 9th has anything to do with this.. the series is OVER!

    4. I assume they made the October 9th call because it's the next PPV on the calendar.

It didn't make much sense when I was told to me on Monday morning and it doesn't make any sense now considering Mick Foley announced that the series was a draw/tie.

    6. If they've told you and others that it will be graded on October 9th, then I am sure it will be graded on October 9th.
