Comment Bag : 28 September 2016

Here are two comments from today.

Firstly, Jordan left this:

Here's a crazy idea - John Cena wins the WWE Title at No Mercy but gets 'injured' in the process, so has to vacate the title (to write him off TV until late this year / early next year) - there can be a tournament set up and finalised at Survivor Series for the WWE title.

My reply:

I don't think this is how it'll go. The sixteenth win is going to be something special and they'll have Cena chase for it and not just pick it up and drop it straight away. The one scenario I can see is Cena eats the pin at No Mercy. So, he's lost to Styles at SummerSlam, Ambrose on Smackdown and then takes the fall at No Mercy. He can then go off for a while to do the reality show and then make his comeback in January and have the chase to number sixteen be his WrestleMania storyline.

Phil asked:

Hi David, just a quick question.. How do you know so quickly after the markets have been published by various bookies? Do you have alerts set up?

My reply:

It varies. In the years that I have been doing this, I've acquired contacts within the gaming industry and they have helped me by given me a heads up either just before or shortly after they have published the markets. In other cases, I usually have help from other visitors/readers/friends and followers on Twitter who get in touch to tell me that a company has installed markets. If those two options fail, I just make occasional visits to the websites to see if anything has been published.

  1. Im so undecided on the miz vs ziggler match at no mercy. On one hand i can see ziggler winning via DQ so he doesnt retire but also i remember him saying last year i think that he wants to move on soon

    1. In my opinion, the 'I am thinking about moving on' thing is a contract ploy to get a better deal when it's time to re-negotiate.

    2. I think Miz cheats to win but this time gets caught. Bryan or Shane would then come out and restart the match, where Ziggler wins.

    3. If it was just another one 1vs1 championship match i would predict Dolph to win it

But when they announce about possible career retire.. they made Miz looks so stong, it will be stupid for him loze here.

But also Dolph loze already 4 title shots in a row (3 for IC against Miz)

      50/50 for me

  2. I think Ambose will take the fall. I can already picture Styles hitting his finisher, pinning Ambrose while Cena just barely misses breaking up the pin. Then sitting on his knees, starring at his hands in disbelief.

    1. Yeah, I can see that actually.

    2. ..but if Cena is going and Ambrose is staying, it should be Ambrose who just misses out.

    3. Ambrose is suppose to be leaving for a couple months too according to a report that I read. If cena barely missed it too, they can use that as motivation/ reason when he comes back.

    4. I've read the reports, but haven't read it where it matters (Observer, Torch etc)

    5. David is correct. The reports haven't come from any credible sources so it would be behoove of you to not put much (if any) stock into it. That SD roster is too thin for two of the top faces to be absent for signifigant stretches. I don't see Ambrose taking the pin and certainly not clean given that he's been arguably the most protected man on the blue brand's roster. I feel certain Cena is eating the pin. Ambrose Dirty Deeds. Styles snakes his way back in to low blow Ambrose and/or throwing him through the ropes before stealing the pin and covering Cena to retain. Furthers the feud between Cena and Dean while keeping the latter looking strong as the top baby face in John's absence. It also keeps the heel heat on AJ and further builds he & Cena's inevitable match up in which John will almost certainly win #16 at either The Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania.

  3. talking about that 3 way encounter I remember kambi has AJ 1.40 winning this thing,I cant see anything other than AJ keeping the belt, after his great push and only one month of title holding,on 3 way you can only retain a title by winning the match ..so 1.40 as I said it s pretty good value which i am sure it wont last long

    1. Becky and AJ should both be locks

    2. Agree

And also AJ should pin Dean, because he need to shoot in a movie later in october, and on next PPV we will see Cena-Styles

Also i think Bray should win. I mentioned one month ago about Randy somehow join Wyatt family. So Randy defeat Rowen thousands times, attack Bray thousands times, cost him a win at Backlash and ... he wear a mask of Wyatt family on SmackDown. At first, when Bray leave when Rowen loze i think about Bray want Randy to replace Erik in his team.

    3. The next PPV where Smackdown will participate is Survivor Series in November and John Cena will be filming American Grit by then.

As for Randy Orton and the Wyatts - if the rumour is true about Ambrose, then that will mean two top babyfaces are gone. They won't have Orton turn heel let alone join the Wyatts because they'll need him to be top babyface.

    4. Orton next opponent for AJ? Can't think of many more logical options that we already haven't had recently unless they push Bray which is also a good possibility.

    5. I thought Orton/AJ be the WrestleMania match, but that was before they started with the Cena going for 16 thing.
As you stated, it's logical for them to be paired up now.

  4. I jumped on those AJ odds as soon as they were published.

    1. I really haven't given it much thought until you've asked.

On one hand, I think if they were going to take the strap off Charlotte, they would have done so at Clash of Champions. Then, on the other, there's the thought that Sasha would have been champion at this point had she not been forced to drop it at SummerSlam.

I can't give you a definitive answer, I'm afraid because I am on the fence on this one.

    2. You wouldn't think they would have Sasha win the belt AGAIN on raw....

  6. Do u think sasha will win womans title at hell in a cell because it is in boston
