Undertaker Retirement Special Republished

The Paddy Power Sportsbook has republished a market where customers can wager on whether The Undertaker announces his retirement at WrestleMania 33.

I wrote about the prop earlier today. When it was available yesterday, the 'No' was 4/9 favourite and the 'Yes' was 13/8.

Here are the odds as of this evening:

As you can see, the 'No' is now a far shorter 1/10.

If Undertaker is going to retire, I think they would have made it a stipulation for this Sunday's match or have him announce he's done at a later point.

As I wrote this morning - if Taker were to lose to Reigns and then announces his retirement, it would shift the focus away from Reigns' victory and I don't think that's what the company wants out of this match. I think the end game is to have Taker endorse Reigns post-match.

The market can be found under 'WrestleMania Specials' on Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page.

  1. I don't think he will announce it but I think he will do a lot of waving etc and also go hug his wife at ringside etc and the commentators will go on to say how it's likely his last wrestlemania match with 'how beat up he is after that much and his 2nd Wrestlemania loss' blah blah, and have a 'Farewell night' the next night

    1. He isn't going to break character by hugging his wife.

    2. Depends how its sold at the end of his match. If everyone is chanting 'thank you taker' and the commentators are stood clapping again, maybe so

    3. If they had him come out in full costume to do The Undertaker gimmick for Paul Bearer's Hall of Fame induction, I cannot see them having him break character in this spot.
