Samoa Joe Favourite To Be SummerSlam Main Event Fall Guy

In a post published yesterday, I noted that the Paddy Power Sportsbook had released a betting market where customers could have a punt on the person who loses in the main event of this Sunday's SummerSlam.

When it first went live, the oddsmakers had Braun Strowman as the favourite. This is because he is the outsider with the heaviest odds to win the match. However, as I noted yesterday, I believe that - even though I don't think he'll end up winning the Universal Championship in a few days - he should not be the person who is pinned or submitted.

The punters evidently agreed. Shortly after the market launched, the oddsmakers moved Samoa Joe to favouritism and pushed Strowman into second-place.

I can understand why it could be Joe, but I've looked at somebody else.

I made a case for Roman Reigns at 8/1. If you missed it, I think he is worth a look because - if the end result is Reigns claiming the WWE Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar in a singles match in the future - he could easily be the person who takes the fall on Sunday.

There must have been others who took the 8s. As it stands right now, the traders are offering 6/1 for The Big Dog.

The champion, who is favourite to retain, has moved up to 6/1 from 11/2.

I'm fascinated to see how this one plays out. In my opinion, it's really a choice between Reigns or Joe.
