Brock Lesnar Conquered Braun Strowman

With Brock Lesnar successfully defending the WWE Universal Championship over Braun Strowman in the main event of last night's No Mercy 2017 pay-per-view, a couple of betting specials were settled.

Since the summer, the Kambi oddsmakers had been accepting wagers on the person who next conquered Braun Strowman in a singles match. There were two markets available - one where clients could bet on the time-frame of Strowman's next loss (by pinfall, submission or ref stoppage) and the second allowed customers to bet on the conqueror.

The time-frame market gave customers three options. The first, which ended up being the winning selection, was 'Before WrestleMania 34' at 1/3, 'During WrestleMania 34' which was 6/4 and 'First Day After WrestleMania 34 Or Later' at 17/4.

The early rounds of wagering saw customers betting on the third option. However, when it became clear that Strowman would face Lesnar in one of the No Mercy main events, the odds for 'Before WrestleMania 34' started to take a hit and had fallen to 1/10 shortly before last night's show.

You can see how I tracked the moves by clicking on the table below.

Brock Lesnar opened as a 2/1 second-favourite when the list of potential conquerors was priced up in July. The person at the top of the list was Roman Reigns at 1/2.

I noticed Lesnar's odds were constantly on the decline each time I checked in with this particular market. After opening at the aforementioned 2/1, he closed - months later - a 1/20 favourite.

Last night's result now ends the tracking of these  'Braun Strowman Conqueror' markets. However, there are still Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Asuka markets to follow up to WrestleMania 34.

When available, the 'Conqueror' odds are found on the websites that publish betting markets that are priced up by the Kambi traders. A few of the pages can be found below.
