Since the news broke, MMA star - Ronda Rousey - has been rumoured as a potential battle royal winner with Asuka being suggested as a possible WrestleMania opponent.
These suggestions have played an impact in some of the WWE betting markets that had been available ahead of Monday's news.
With Asuka being linked to the possible match with Rousey, Kambi's 'Asuka Conqueror' specials have been adjusted to reflect a Rousey victory should the pair meet at next year's WrestleMania.
Rousey has been slashed from 13/2 into 3/5 favourite to be the person who conquers Asuka before the end of WrestleMania 34.
A market where customers can bet on a time-frame when Asuka loses (or not) has also been changed to reflect the rumour.
The option to wager on Asuka's next loss to take place at Mania 34 is now EVENS from 13/5. As a result, the traders have increased the other two options - 'Before WrestleMania' and 'On First Day After WrestleMania 34 Or Later' - from the prices they were a week ago.
Another couple of markets that have been amended are the ones where customers can place bets on who they believe will leave WrestleMania 34 with the WWE Smackdown and WWE Raw Women's Championships.
Rousey has been cut from 2/1 into 6/4 in the Smackdown market. While - over in the Raw Women's Champ special - she has been placed a joint-favourite, alongside Asuka.
Rousey was a 2/1 second-favourite a week ago, but is now 17/20. As a result, Asuka went from 8/13 into 17/20.
For what it's worth, I have had a feeling that Asuka versus Ronda Rousey would take place at WrestleMania for a few months.
However - my guess was that it would take place at WrestleMania 35. Not thirty-four.
On September 22nd, when pointing out that I thought that it should be more than a year before we saw Asuka's undefeated streak come to an end, I wrote 'if done correctly, WWE could have a huge match for WrestleMania 35 if it stays its course.'
If it does end up with Asuka .vs. Rousey at Mania, I'll could end up being wrong on both counts.
If Ronda will win Rumble, than she is 100% go for SD title.
ReplyDeleteThey can make good story in Asuka vs Ronda at next mania, after they both 1 year underfeated
It isn't 100% she goes for Smackdown title because I'd expect WWE to want Ronda Rousey on Raw rather than Smackdown during the Mania build.
