Bliss Becomes MITB 2018 Favourite

Alexa Bliss has become an odds-on favourite to become this year's Ms. Money in the Bank.

The 5Dimes Sportsbook, which has been taking wagers on tonight's match, has cut the former WWE Raw Women's Champion from this morning's price of +400 into -280.

As a result of this move, 'The Field' versus Bliss is +200.

The favourite going into the weekend - Natalya - is now priced at +360. The other participants' odds have also drifted out as a result of Bliss seeing action.

Charlotte Flair is now +1600, Sasha Banks is +1600, Becky Lynch is +2200, Ember Moon is +3300, Lana is also +3300 and Naomi is +7000.

Another market that is showing contrasting odds to this morning is the one for the Raw Women's Championship.

Ronda Rousey has fallen into -560 from -420. The champ, Nia Jax, has drifted out to +370 from +300.

Seeing Bliss' odds move in has me wondering whether we'll see a cash-in attempt on Jax this evening. I initially thought there was a chance of Natalya doing it to start something with Rousey, but it could still work with Bliss doing something to her nemesis, Jax.

If Bliss really is winning that is.

5Dimes' WWE odds are found under 'Other Sports' on the 5Dimes Website.

  1. It's worth noting that Kambi is showing some interesting movement on the Smackdown Women's Title market. It's showing Carmella as a pretty decent favorite (-250) to walk out with the Smackdown Women's Title, but has Asuka as the winner of the match. Also "Any Other Method" has started shortening in terms of match finish. It was at like +100 this morning, and is now dual favorites with a submission finish sitting at -118.

It makes me wonder if the rumors of WWE holding off on crowning Asuka as champion until the Japan tour are true. She is being advertised as going for the title on night 2 of the tour in a singles match. They changed the advertising earlier this week to reflect that. The match used to be a triple threat, but that was changed due to Charlotte's injury, but then they removed Becky (who was slated to replace her in the triple threat) earlier this week.

    1. James Ellsworth is rumoured to be coming in, so I would say there's a good chance the bets coming in are because people are expecting him to interfere etc.

    2. I'd say that's been a factor for awhile (since it was announced actually). I'm starting to think that it'll be a DQ finish because they don't want Carmella pinning or submitting Asuka.

    3. I am reluctant to agree with you as the show isn't televised. Having her win the title BEFORE going to Japan is sort of their MO.

    4. That's fine. I'm leaning towards it is likely to happen there since they invited some major Japanese media outlets to the actual event (Nikkei, Tokyo Sports, SportingNews, etc), and are also expected to announce that Meiko Satomura will be a part of the MYC2, and that Io Shirai has signed with WWE.

I think the red flags are the fact that WWE is openly inviting several major Japanese media outlets to the event, along with them changing the triple threat match to a singles match. It's not like its unprecedented either. AJ Styles won the US title at MSG as an example.

    2. thanks, i don't think AJ will lose because of 2k19 cover news. Who do you think will win ?

    3. Hopefully AJ so they can put the feud out of its misery.

    4. yeah, if Nak wins then they will do another rematch at extreme rules.

i kinda want Joe- Styles feud

    6. Crazy idea - if Ronda is winning the title, and there isn't a cash-in planned, they may as well just have it on last.

    7. Otherwise, go AJ/Nak and have the threat of a cash-in (if it's a SD winner).

    8. Miz probably will win but Joe cashing in on AJ would be great

  3. Alexa down to -230 but where there is smoke there is fire...

Miz spiked to -210, now -175

Wondering if this will be like the Rumble where Shin and Asuka were the favorites going in and wound up winning.

Sometimes I wonder if WWE has random people place wagers to maybe throw the lines...

    1. People who know the results have backed the wrong side to get better odds on the eventual winner. It used to happen a lot last year.

    2. The people who knew the results weren't WWE employees, by the way.

  4. Good to know - maybe I'm just hopeful for my Joe and Nattie picks

  5. I hope alexa wins because the merch sells itself with "little miss money" and "bank on bliss"
