Men's Elimination Chamber Match Gets Most Stars In This Week's Observer And More

The main event of this year's WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 was the match that received the most stars in Dave Meltzer's review of the PPV in the current issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Going in, the oddsmakers from Kambi surmised that it would end up being a one match show as they priced up their usual 'Highest Rated Match of the Night' market with only two options for their customers - 'WWE Championship' or 'Any Unlisted Match'.

Daniel Bryan's Elimination Chamber win over the likes of Kofi Kingston, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Jeff Hardy received four-and-a-half stars from the newsletter's editor. The price for it the match to be match of the night was 1/4 throughout the weekend.

The losing selection that covered all of the other bouts on Sunday's card was 1/4.

Another market, where customers could place wagers on the match of the night to receive 'Exactly 4.5 Stars', has been settled. The eventual winner was 9/4 for the entire period the market was available.

In my opinion, the most popular Wrestling Observer markets from Kambi are the Over/Under specials that customers can predict whether an upcoming match receives more, less or exactly on the line that is set by the oddsmaker.

There was a mixed bag of results for last weekend's PPV as you can see in the image below.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 Star Rating Over/Under Betting Results

I placed three wagers on these markets. I lost on two and had a flukey break with another.

In bet number one, I backed the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match to receive more than three-and-a-quarter stars. I went 'Over 3.25' because I predicted the bookmaker would set his line at 3.50 so thought it was worth a gamble. The bookie ended up having the line right on the nose. The Exactly 3.25' selection was 49/20.

Another one I felt had a lower line than my estimate was the handicap match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The bookie had it at 3 and I took the over. The match was given two-and-a-half, so it was the 'Under' that won. It was 9/4.

The match I fluked one was when I decided to bet on Ronda Rousey versus Ruby Riott - for the WWE Raw Women's Championship - getting more than three-and-a-quarter stars. The match was a quick squash that ended up being ungraded in the review. As there was no rating given, all bets were settled as void.

As you can see from the betting, the consensus was against it going over as the 'Under 3.25' had moved in from its opening 9/10 to 7/10 before the market was taken down just as the match was about to start at 1:44AM GMT

Raw Women's Championship

As noted, all wagers will be refunded as no rating was given.

Hopefully, I'll return with more Observer betting news in a few weeks when we're gearing up for WWE Fast Lane 2019.
