2020 WWE Royal Rumble Markets Published

We're only ten days removed from the 2019 Royal Rumble and now opportunities to wager on the 2020 battle royals have become a reality.

This afternoon, the Kambi Oddsmakers priced up markets where customers can bet on the outright winners of both the men's and women's matches.

The men's market is topped by the person who was the final wrestler eliminated - Braun Strowman. He's 3/1. He's followed by AJ Styles and the current WWE Champion - Daniel Bryan - at 4/1.

WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, is next up at 5/1 then Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, and John Cena are next at 6/1 each.

As regular visitors are sure to know, John Cena is the name I always check in on when these markets are published. This is because I am confident there will come a time when WWE does a storyline chase for his seventeenth world title. However, I am reluctant to wager on him this year because I suspect that the chase for number seventeen could take place on an episode of Smackdown once the series moves to Fox later this year.

Another name that I was looking out for, and is somewhat of a conspicuous absence, is Roman Reigns.

I guess there might be an ethical reason why he wasn't installed considering Reigns was taken out of the 2019 Rumble market shortly after he announced that he had to take time away to battle leukaemia.

This time last year, Ronda Rousey was a favourite to win the 2019 women's Royal Rumble. Then, when Rousey won the WWE Raw Women's Championship over the summer, Charlotte Flair went into first.

Both ladies are 5/2 joint-favourites to win in 2020.

This year's winner - Becky Lynch - is next at 5/1. She's then followed by Nia Jax at 6/1 and the current NXT Women's Champion - Shayna Baszler - is 8/1.

It's so far away that I can't even guess who could win the ladies' match in 2020.

Had you asked me this time last year what the chances were of Becky Lynch winning in 2019, I would have had a hard time seeing beyond Rousey and Flair, so who knows what the upcoming year will bring in the women's division?

  1. I wouldn’t mind a crack at Finn but not at that price. They are definitely playing it safe this far out!

Maybe a hail mary on Ricochet at 50s just for fun?

  2. Ember Moon at 10/1 seems pretty good
