WOR Discusses Kambi's Star Ratings Lines For WWE Stomping Grounds

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez spoke about Kambi's Star Ratings lines for tonight's WWE Stomping Ground during an early segment on this morning's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

In this post, I'll go through each match in the order of how they are positioned on the websites with Kambi's markets, share what Meltzer said and point out the price changes that have been made.

Before I begin, here's a table showing all of the matches, their lines and current prices. Odds in red indicate price reductions that have been made, prices in green show odds that have drifted while those in black are unchanged from my previous post about these markets.

WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 Observer O/U Star Ratings

Cruiserweight Championship
The oddsmakers have snipped 'Over 3 Stars' for the Cruiserweight Championship match from 9/10 into 4/5.
Meltzer didn't really say much about this particular match other than to say it's like all cruiserweight bouts in that, they're usually wrestled well but rarely get over with the audience.

WWE Raw Women's Championship
Meltzer noted that the line for Becky Lynch .vs. Lacey Evans was at 2, which is the same amount of stars their match at Money in the Bank 2019 received. He does not anticipate this one being any better.
From the betting, the 'Under 2 Stars' has been cut from 23/20 into 9/10.

Roman Reigns .vs. Drew McIntyre
The newsletter editor felt Kambi may have set the line low for Roman Reigns .vs. Drew McIntyre. It's at 2.75 and the odds for the 'Over' have been cut from 11/10 into 4/5.
For what it's worth, I predicted the line would be at 3 before the oddsmaker posted his lines. As there's only a quarter of a star between their line and my line, I did not bet on the 'Over'.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
Dave Meltzer's co-host, Bryan Alvarez, indicated that the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match's placement on tonight's card was important to how it'll be received. Meltzer agreed to an extent, but did voice that he felt the line of two-and-three-quarter stars might not be high enough.
The 'Over' is now at 17/20. It had been at EVS for the past day and a bit.

WWE Smackdown Women's Championship
When talking about the 2.25 star rating line for Bayley's WWE Smackdown Women's Championship defence against Alexa Bliss, Meltzer noted that the pair have had matches which have fared lower than that (the kendo stick match, anyone?!). He did say that the 2.25 seemed 'about right'.
From betting, the 'Over' has been cut from 19/20 into 17/20.
I was one of the customers to bet on the 'Over' when it was at 19/20. This is because the line was half a star lower than my estimate.

The New Day .vs. Owens and Zayn
Dave Meltzer didn't say much about the 3.25 line for the tag match other than to note that he felt that it 'sounds about right'.
The market is still showing the same pricing as day one.

WWE US Championship
Meltzer noted that Samoa Joe and Ricochet had a match last night, but - from the report - he was told that it was not out of the ordinary.
The line for this match has been set at 3.5 stars and is the match that is favoured to be the match of the night. The odds for the 'Over' have been taken down from 11/10 to EVS.

WWE Universal Championship
When discussing the Universal Championship line, Meltzer indicated that he felt that Rollins - and Corbin - could beat the line of 2.50 stars. Meltzer reasons that he cannot see Rollins have successive bad matches on PPV.
The price for the 'Over' has been trimmed from 9/10 into 4/5.

WWE Championship
Meltzer feels that Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler have the potential to beat the line of 3 Stars for their steel cage match.
As you can see below, there has been a flip as the 'Over' went from 5/4 to 4/5 and the 'Under' went in the opposite direction. The bookies have kept the 'Exactly 3 Stars' selection at 2/1.

WWE Championship
Over 3.0 Stars
Exactly 3.0 Stars
Under 3.0 Stars
21/6 6:00PM
5/4
2/1
4/5
23/6 11:00AM
4/5
"
5/4

This is another example of me backing the 'Over' as it was a half star below my estimate.

Prices correct as of this morning. The latest odds can be found on the link below.
