Today's Main Event Will Settle Another Special From 2019

In a few hours, Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito will wrestle in the main event of WrestleKingdom 14's second night.

Once they do, a betting market that was first installed by the oddsmakers from Kambi in mid-September will be settled.

In the special, customers were given the opportunity to place wagers on which bout they guessed would headline night two of New Japan's extravaganza.

When the market was first installed, weeks after the G1 Climax tournament concluded, the bookies had Kota Ibushi .vs. Tetsuya Naito as a favourite. At the time, it made sense considering tourney winner, Ibushi, was set to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on the fourth and Naito was the then IWGP Intercontinental Champion.

As time went on, with Naito losing the strap to Jay White in order to set up his regaining of it on night one, the odds for an Okada versus Naito match began to decline.

You'll see - in the table below - that the winner (once it's confirmed) went from 5/2 into 6/4 by November 10th. It was then down to 13/10 a couple of days after Christmas and was then reduced to 11/10 a little over two days ago.

Another market, in which customers could gamble on who they thought would leave the event with the IWGP Heavyweight Championship will also be settled later. I'll write about it once we know for sure who the champion is*.

*I don't want to jinx Naito
