27/3/20 Smackdown Viewership Number Plus Another Look At Mania 32 On ESPN Prop

The audience number for last night's episode of WWE Smackdown on FOX has been confirmed by the television ratings website, ShowBuzzDaily.com.

The episode had a total average audience of 2,374,000 viewers with 2,393,000 tuned in for the first hour and a drop to 2,355,000 for its second.

Now that the result has been confirmed, Kambi will settle viewership prop bets that were released for the show.

When the oddsmakers first published a market for Smackdown, they asked customers whether or not the show would have a total average of 2.5 Million or more viewers. Then, once Raw's rating came in at 2,006,333 on Tuesday night, the line for the Smackdown market was lowered to '2.3 Million or more'.

The 'No' will be graded as the winning selection whichever line the gamblers took. If there were any, that is. That's because, by looking at how the prices changes, the customers were evidently gambling on the prospect of Smackdown doing better than 2.5 Million or 2.3 Million depending on the time when they placed their wagers.

A 'Spread' proposition will also be settled now that Smackdown's viewership figure has been released.

In this market, customers gambled on whether or not Smackdown would beat Raw by 250,000 or more viewers.

When the market went live, 'No' was a 4/5 favourite and 'Yes' was 9/10.

A day after the Raw number came in at 2,006,333,  Kambi republished the market. This time with the 'Yes' at 13/20 and the 'No' out to 11/10. By last night, 'Yes' had lowered to 1/2 while its opposing selection was up to 7/5.

All Smackdown needed to get, for the 'Yes' to win, was 2,256,333. Therefore, the winning selection turned out to be the one the consensus of punters were seemingly on based on how the odds changed.

TV Prop Bet: Smackdown .vs. Raw For Week Commencing 23rd March 2020

Usually, that would be all for the week of viewership prop bets. However, as I mentioned on Wednesday, Kambi has released a proposition for ESPN's airing of WrestleMania 32.

The show will be on the US ESPN channel on Sunday night and Kambi has asked its customers whether or not 750,000 or more will tune in for it.

As you can see below, the punters appear to be siding with the favourite - 'Yes' - as it has lowered from 7/10 into 13/20 and was then dropped to 1/2 last night.

WrestleMania 32 On ESPN Prop Bet

'Yes' might be seeing interest because an airing of WrestleMania 30 last Sunday had a total average of 839,000.

However, there might be something that could work against a repeat of last week's figure and that is the fact that, on last night's Smackdown, WWE aired the Triple H versus Roman Reigns main event from that show.

I don't know how much of an impact it could make, considering the ESPN audience might simply be people looking for content as an escape from world news, but it might turn out to be something if the number is lower.

The figure for the Mania 32 on ESPN airing will be released sometime next week.
