Kazuchika Okada was the favourite when the outright winner market was first priced up by Kambi over the weekend. However, when I checked the odds this morning, another selection had moved in and joined Okada as a joint-fave.
As you'll see below, Hiromu Takahashi went from 7/2 joint-second favourite into 11/4 while Okada was moved up to 11/4 from 2/1.
It's understandable to see Takahashi's odds move in considering the winner will go on to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental and Heavyweight Championships. The two Los Ingobernables de Japon stablemates were initially meant to wrestle each other earlier this year on the NJPW anniversary show that was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Takahashi went on to progress to the next round with a win over Tomoaki Honma on today's card.
Another LIJ member had shorter odds than Saturday.
SANADA, who was 7/2 on Saturday, was 13/4 when I looked over the market this morning. His first round match - against Ryusuke Taguchhi - will take place on Monday.
