Sky Bet's 2022 WWE Royal Rumble Markets Published

Sky Bet's oddsmakers have began to take wagers on the winners of next year's Royal Rumble matches.

As of today, the favourites to win the respective battle royals are Rhea Ripley (6/1) to outlast the field in the women's match while, in the men's market, the firm lists Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns as joint-favourites with prices of 10/1 apiece.

I have placed a trio of bets already.

For starters - I have backed Ronda Rousey (8/1) to win the women's Rumble just in case they want to go with a Ronda Rousey versus Becky Lynch match at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas.

I'd obviously need Becky Lynch to return and become one of the company's champions again for the Rousey/Lynch idea to work out.

I have placed two gambles on the men's match. And they sure are gambles.

Frequent visitors to this blog should already know that I always have a punt on John Cena (25/1) to win the men's Royal Rumble because I am sure that - one day - WWE will go with the story of Cena chasing the company's 'record' of seventeen world titles.

The second punt is on another star I've backed in the past - The Rock (16/1).

I still believe that Dwayne Johnson will wrestle a match against Roman Reigns. I thought it would happen at this year's Mania, so am hoping that it will happen next year in a building that could - if all things go right - have 100,000 plus in attendance.

WWE could then have The Rock as the headline star of the Hall of Fame in 2023, which is fittingly set for Hollywood.

One of the many things working against my ideas for the men's match is the company has done a comeback chase story for this year's WrestleMania with Edge winning the Rumble and setting his sights on Roman Reigns' title.

As per usual, I am sure there will be other names added to my list of potential winners for both matches over the next eleven months.

Sky Bet was the first bookmaking firm based here in Europe to publish markets for the 2021 Royal Rumble matches as well.

Back then, the early favourites to win the men's Rumble were Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns and the eventual winner - Edge. They were 10/1 each.

The women's market was topped by Shayna Baszler, Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks who were all 6/1 faves.
