Is Dolphins1925's Game Up?

As expected, Dolphin1925 made an appearance on Reddit just before SummerSlam started last night. This time, he did not give away spoilers. Instead, he plugged a Twitter handle. A new tool he was going to use to publish his 'spoilers'.

During the course of SummerSlam, the user posted three tweets where he claimed to have just been given word who was going to win.

He dished out Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio and Brock Lesnar as spoilers.

I still stand by what I have written about Dolphin1925. I believe he is being dishonest in how he is getting his information. He's simply looking at the betting odds for each pay-per-view and drawing a conclusion from it.

He got last night's three 'spoilers' correct for a simple reason - he chose favourites with short odds.

Bray Wyatt, as I had tracked on this very blog throughout the past week, was bet into odds of -16000 (41.00 EU, 1.01 UK).

Alberto Del Rio was a strong favourite for the majority of the weekend being as high as -3000 (1.03 EU, 3/100 UK) at the 5Dimes Sportsbook on Sunday afternoon.

Dolphin1925's final 'spoiler' was Brock Lesnar to defeat CM Punk. Lesnar had been a continuous favourite in betting since August 13th. By the time he took to the ring last night, the former UFC Champion was marked up at -1700 (1.06 EU, 3/50 UK).

He didn't choose winners like Rob Van Dam, Cody Rhodes, Natalya and Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn because the odds weren't as definitive for him to pick outright. From a betting perspective, both Rob Van Dam and Rhodes were underdogs right before their matches went underway.

He's only looking at the odds, it's as simple as that.

I'll be back posting more when the Night of Champions matches are announced.

  1. You are absolutely correct sir. He was taking the big favorites at 5Dimes and "picking" them. Tonight he couldn't, because there were only the 3 strong favorites you indicated.

    1. Unfortunately, him picking the betting favourites isn't as big a story as somebody within WWE feeding him information so the masses will still think there is a 'mole'.

      Thanks for leaving a comment.

  2. You're guessing. You're making an assumption based on circumstantial evidence, at best. You don't really know anything, but you're doing a heck of a job of using the issue to raise your own profile. Job well done.

    1. I am unsure what the odds were in this match before the show started. However, I knew that Mark Henry was going to win.

The Wrestling Observer podcast, on the Sunday morning before WrestleMania, had noted how the finish was going to be changed.

So, Henry winning wasn't that much of a surprising pick if the person claiming to be from WWE had heard the same as subscribers to f4wonline.com.

  4. Explain how he picked Damien Sandow as the Money in the Bank winner.

    Certainly no odds-on favourites there!

    1. Easy. Sandow was favourite.

The odds from the night before the PPV:

      Swagger 40/1
      Fandango 30/1
      Rhodes 25/1
      Ambrose 18/1
      Cesaro 15/1
      Barrett 4/1
      Sandow 23/100
