Interesting Odds Patterns Concerning The WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

The oddsmakers at the 5Dimes Sportsbook have readjusted their WrestleMania XXX betting lines a number of minutes ago and there has been some interesting changes of note. The main one concerns the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match and its decider.

As a rule of thumb, I rarely track odds for the 'Initial Ruling' where bets are settled on the first call of the referee. However, there is something that does not line up as you will soon discover.

In betting on the match between Triple H and Daniel Bryan to see which wrestler goes on to challenge for the WWE title, the Initial Ruling odds conflict with the 'End of Broadcast' price (which is settled on what the actual result ends up being).

The Initial ruling has Triple H favoured at -190 (1.53 EU, 10/19 UK) whilst the End of Broadcast ruling has Daniel Bryan a favourite with a line of -13500 (1/135 UK). Often when the bookmaker sets up two sets of odds for a match, the initial and end of broadcast rulings are symmetric in establishing a favourite and underdog.

Things get even more peculiar when examining the pricing for the main event match-up.

Triple H had been +6000 since early yesterday morning. At the time of this posting, his odds have fallen to +2000 (21.00 EU, 20/1 UK).

Daniel Bryan still remains a favourite to win the match at a price of -1700 (1/17 UK).

Odds correct as of 17:52 BST. For the latest check the betting board at 5Dimes.eu

  1. These kind of odds for initial and end ruling really makes me think someone knows more than they are suppose to.....I mean who would be able to tell Triple H will get the initial ruling but the end of broadcast ruling Bryan....this must mean they know definitely that this is the way its going to happen.....also does this make it a risk of having Daniel Bryan to win against Triple H on the UK sites or is it a safe bet???

    1. Most of the UK sites (if not all) settle on the results posted on WWE.com.

    2. If Triple H wins but Hogan lets Bryan into the Triple threat wouldnt that mean Triple H won the match??? But on the other hand 5Dimes has Bryan at -13500 to win end of broadcast......what do you think will happen in that match David???

    3. The 'Qualifying Winner' odds drifting leads me to consider that the main event turns into a 4-way.

    4. That could just mean whoever qualify's for the Triple Threat wins the match which means batista and orton wont win.....i want your thoughts on what happens in Bryan/Triple H match and how you think it will end so triple h gets the initial ruling and bryan gets end of broadcast ruling?? in my eyes if triple h wins and hogan or someone else enters bryan into the triple threat anyway then logic says triple h wins the match meaning his odds are a good shout!!!!

    6. Seriously, though. I don't want to indicate to anyone what they should be betting on.

  2. Due to these new developments, It might be worth placing a few quid on HHH to beat Bryan

  3. I think that 5 dimes are correct with this, HHH will get the initial decision and then Hogan will come in and reverse the decision. I had a feeling that something like this was going to happen. It might be worth placing a few euro on HHH- but not much!

  4. If he reverses the decision and he puts daniel bryan into the triple threat to make it four way which is most likely then the bet will either be in favour of Triple H or most likely void or no bet!!!!
