Randy Orton's Rumble Odds Make For Interesting Reading

Randy Orton's Royal Rumble betting odds have made for interesting reading today.

The Viper, who hasn't been seen on WWE TV since late last year, is rumoured to be one of the surprise entrants in tomorrow night's fight to find out who will headline WrestleMania XXXI.

At the time of writing, his price is +1,250 with the 5Dimes Sportsbook. This is quite a drop from the +1,700 they were this morning.

Over on this side of the world, PaddyPower.com has him priced up at 9/1 behind Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.

The story here, though, is he had opened up at 8/1 on Thursday but - earlier today - he was available at 12s.

To be clear - these fluctuations have nothing to do with any insider betting. I suspect what has happened is people have read stories about Orton possibly returning to WWE at the Rumble and have made speculative punts on him winning.

It's also worth noting that Paddy Power is paying out each-way terms on the winner. With Orton returning, a decision might be made to make him look strong in defeat. One of the ways this can be achieved is by making him reach the final two.

The punters who took him at 12/1 today are in for a three-to-one payoff if he does end up being ousted last.

I'm not stating that this will be the case, just that that's possibly one of the reasons why his Paddy Power odds have been moving.
