Bwin's SummerSlam Main Event Method Of Victory Odds For August 9th

It has been nine days since the bwin Sportsbook first installed method of victory odds for punters to predict how the WWE SummerSlam 2015 main event will finish. In this post, I'll show you the latest odds and compare them to how they were on July 31st and on a second visit I made to the company's website on August 4th.

Here's how the market looked as of 5pm BST this evening:

The Undertaker by pinfall 1/2

This selection first opened at 4/5. It evidently has been backed by wrestling fans who believe that The Undertaker will get the 1-2-3 on Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar by pinfall 19/10

'The Beast' pinning The Undertaker was initially put up at 7/5, so this has drifted out.

Either wrestler awarded victory via disqualification 9/2

This is an interesting one. It opened at 5/1. However, the odds had shortened to 3/1 by August 4th. With them now being re-adjusted to 9/2, it seems the bettors have chosen another option to punt on in the past week.

Draw 10/1

No, they haven't been betting on a draw. That opened at 6/1 - was 8/1 on the 4th - and has now drifted further to the 10/1 it is at the moment.

Brock Lesnar by submission 40/1

The fans haven't touched this one. The odds have gone from 20/1 to 33/1 and now rest at 40/1.

The Undertaker by submission 7/1

This is the option that has been hit. It first opened at 20/1 then drifted out to 25/1 by the 4th of the month. The cut from 25 to 7s indicates it has seen some interest from the betting public.

I can see why this was backed as Hell's Gate is one of Taker's go-to moves. It could also play into Brock Lesnar's MMA-style of fighting. However, the thing that deters me from thinking this is a good option to bet is they haven't fully turned Brock Lesnar back into a heel. Babyfaces don't quit. Unless, of course, they go with a finish where Lesnar passes out (the best example I can use is the 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin versus Bret Hart match from WrestleMania XIII). I still don't think this is how it'll end, but I can see why some have punted on it.

There are now only two more weeks before we find out how this one will end up being settled.
