Daniel Bryan's Odds Coming In

For the third Royal Rumble in succession, Daniel Bryan's odds of winning have started to come in on the day of the show.

They have been shortening in a 5Dimes.com market where 'All Wagers Have Action'.

This market opened two days ago where he was showing at +3,750. He was backed down to +3,000 within a day and was then as low as +1,200 when I checked in with the market at 6:40am GMT today.

His price is now +1,000 as of 11am GMT.

There's a good reason why I believe he has been backed.

WWE.com published a video teasing that the Royal Rumble could have its surprises tonight and listed a few wrestlers from the past (or present). The names that were highlighted in this video are The Undertaker, Sting, Seth Rollins, Steve Austin, Goldberg and Bryan.

The wrestler in question went so far as to link to the video on his Facebook page with the comment 'Never say never':

Knowing how upset WWE fans have been the past two years with the lack of Daniel Bryan in the 2014 Rumble and the elimination in 2015, I'm surprised the company would even put his name in a video like this.

Fans have evidently reacted to it. The odds changing reflect this assumption.

If he is in the match, he'll have to win it. Doing so will make The Authority storyline with Roman Reigns slightly peculiar because they'll have succeeded in taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Reigns, but it'll be in the hands of another nemesis. I can't see how this would make any sense unless Bryan is brought in as a heel.

And even then, he'll be a heel that'll be cheered and that's something WWE doesn't want.

As of right now, I have no confidence that Bryan will be in the battle royal and am not looking forward to tonight if the odds start falling even further and lead to nothing like the past two Rumble Sundays.
