WrestleMania In London Betting

The bookmakers from Kambi have released an interesting WrestleMania market yesterday when the websites published a handful of WWE-related betting opportunities.

The firms are offering 6/1 that a WrestleMania will take place in London by the end of 2020.

There's also a 1/15 to those who believe that WWE's biggest night of the year will not be hosted by England's capital city within the next four years.

It was announced last week that next year's event will be held in Miami. Therefore, you'd be betting that any of the WrestleManias between 34 and 36 will emanate from London.

Despite being interested to see a bet like this available, I won't be having a punt.

If I had to make a choice right now - it would have to be the 'No'.

I cannot envision a WrestleMania being held outside of the Americas even during the WWE Network era where it should be easier for WWE to host live foreign-based shows.

WrestleMania is still the company's biggest night for domestic pay-per-view revenue. Until that changes, and I can't see how it will, the show should take place in a venue that is suitable for live viewing to the Americas.

The last time a major PPV show took place in London was 1992's SummerSlam. It was taped on a Saturday and put on pay-per-view the following Monday. This was during the time telephone news hotlines were a big deal, so people were aware of the results ahead of time. This resulted in the WWF not being happy with the number of buys the show was given and is a reason why the company hasn't come back for another major PPV show.

With that said - with the WWE Network, I can see WWE testing the waters by having one of its other PPV shows take place from Europe within the next few years.

If the bookies had put up a market where we could wager on 'Any of WWE's 12 major PPVs to be held in London by..' I would have certainly considered having a bet on the 'Yes' in that case.
