Until today.
Every month, I like to look around at all the prop markets that are available for customers on a PPV week and see what the fans are betting on. I also share a few ideas on where I have (or would) place a bet.
WrestleMania is the biggest show in wrestling. Therefore, there are many sportsbooks offering match markets. However, there are only a few that have priced up specials for this year's show. That's not to state that there aren't that many prop markets out there... THERE ARE LOADS!
In this post, I'll go through as many as I can and share with you my thoughts on how they'll win.
To start, I'll concentrate on some of the markets that are available on more than one website and compare the wording and odds.
Suplexes
888Sport and Betfair have markets where customers can predict how many suplexes are executed by Brock Lesnar in their no holds barred street fight.
The traders at 888Sport have written it up as 'Total Number of suplexes delivered to Dean Ambrose during the match?' and have set the line at 8.5. Over at Betfair, they have 'Total German Suplexes executed by Brock Lesnar' with a line set at 9.5.
With this being a street fight, my instinct is telling me it'll be more brawling than anything so I am looking to the Under. As Betfair has the higher figure and only looking for German suplexes, I'd look to back it there for 5/6.
For what it's worth, the 'Over' is also set at 5/6 with Betfair.
If you'd prefer to go with 888Sport - the odds are 3/5 for Over 8.5 and 6/5 for Under. The Under has been backed as it opened at 17/20 over a fortnight ago.
Bumps From The Top Of The Cell
888Sport and Betfair once again have a special where you can bet on there being a bump from the top of the Hell in a Cell. Both with different wording. However, I don't think there is too much of a difference.
The 888Sport proposition has 'Shane McMahon to jump and/or get thrown from the cage roof' while Betfair's has 'Either Shane or Undertaker to jump/fall/be thrown from the top of the cell.'
Betfair has added 'Undertaker', but let's be honest, there's no way he's going to take a bump from the top of the cell. He didn't do it in 1998, so he certainly wouldn't do it now.
888Sport had opened with the 'Yes' being offered at 18/25 and 'No' was EVS. The betting went the way of 'No' to start off with and I backed 'Yes' when it was 3/1 after hearing that there was a stunt being practised the other day. However, I have now learned that this is apparently going to be done from the giant screen in AT &T Stadium and I think that puts the 'Yes' cashing in some jeopardy
The best website to bet the 'Yes' is the 6/4 from 888Sport. The best place to back 'No' is 5/6 at Betfair.
RKO
Both Paddy Power and Betfair are offering EVEN money on an RKO being executed on the night. I have a feeling this will pay out, but haven't bet it. Randy Orton has been seen in the area this week.
Quickest Elimination From The Battle Royal
Betfair and Paddy Power both have an Over/Under on the quickest elimination in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Both firms are taking 5/6 on either 'Over 10 seconds' or 'Under 10 seconds'.
Another one I am not betting on, I have a feeling it could be under. It's a stab in the dark, though!
Tables Betting
There are a few tables markets on offer. 888Sport has ''Spanish Announce Table To Be Broken During The Event' and is paying 'Yes' at 1/5 or 'No' 3/1.
Betfair has two specials containing tables. The first is 'Total Number Of Announce Tables Broken' with a line of 1.5. The 'Over' is 3/4 and the 'Under' is 20/21. Both options opened at 5/6, so the Over has been backed.
I also like the Over because I believe there's a chance there may be more announce tables due to the WWE Network offering new foreign languages for tonight's broadcast. From the top of my head, Japan and France will be covered. The only thing I don't know for sure is where they'll be doing the commentating. It could be in a broadcast booth for all I know.
The other option on the - pardon the pun - table from Betfair is 'Total Number Of Tables Broken On The Night'. The line has been set at 3.5. The 'Over' is 7/10 and the 'Under' is 11/10. Both opened at 5/6, so the 'Over' has been the customers' choice. Tricky one. I think we'll see three (Dudleys put through a table by The Usos and the announce tables). I am thinking 'Go Under!' but I'm passing.
Now I'll go through the exclusives.
888Sport's Exclusive Props
The 888Sports website had published a lot of WrestleMania prop markets. Most have been taken down. We're left with the following.
The Rock To Be Involved In The New Day .vs. League Of Nations Match
This is even more trickier than the 3.5 tables! The 'Yes' is 6/4 and the 'No' is 23/50.
I don't like the word 'Match' in this. If The Rock does get involved, and that is 'if', I can see it being post-match to save The New Day from a beatdown. I will not bet this because of the ambiguity involved, but would take the 'No' if forced to make a bet. One thing worth noting is this sort of thing would be ideal for Steve Austin as well. He could come out to save The New Day and do some Stone Cold Stunners on the heels. I'd actually prefer Austin in this spot now that I've thought about it.
Total Number Of F5's Delivered To Dean Ambrose During Street Fight
The Over/Under has been set at 2.5 with the 'Over' EVENS and 'Under' 18/25. The market opened on March 18th and the odds are the same as then. I think there will be a couple of F5's but the style of match is difficult to call. I'll pass.
Wrestler To Concede Defeat In The Divas Triple Threat
This is allowing customers to wager on the wrestler who is pinned or submitted in the match. If the current odds shifts are nothing to go by right now and it is Sasha or Becky winning, I think the babyface should pin or make the champion submit, so I - if I had to make a speculative punt - I'd go with Charlotte being the conceder. She's being offered at 5/2. For what it's worth the other options are: Sasha Banks 6/4 and Becky Lynch 11/20.
Betfair's Exclusive Markets
Betfair is one of my favourite sportsbooks for WWE prop bets. The traders have been doing these for two years now and they're always fun to look through. Here are the specials you can't find anywhere else.
Which Match Goes On Last?
Technically, this isn't an 'Exclusive' because two other firms had been taking bets on what the main event will end up being. However, these markets appear to have been closed so it's Betfair or nothing for customers looking to have a bet on which match they believe will finish last.
The traders have compiled a list for a handful of matches. It's a two-horse race, so I'm only going to look at 'The World Heavyweight Championship' and 'Hell in a Cell'.
The title match is being offered at 1/2 while the other is 11/10. I have made some significant priced wagers on the latter and still believe the best finish would be for the Hell in a Cell match to go on last.
A Referee To Be Knocked Down In Any Match?
The 'Yes' is 8/15 and the 'No' is 7/5. It's a four hour show, it's WrestleMania... let's go YES!
Any Match To End In A Disqualification?
The traders have set the 'Yes' at 11/10 and 'No' 4/6. I'm leaning on the 'No' but doubt I'll bet on it.
Conor McGregor To Be Announced As Any Superstars' Opponent For WrestleMania 33?
This will be paid out if a match is announced tonight for next year's event. It is currently 33/1, but had opened at 20/1. I doubt something like this will be done, so the price speaks for itself.
Total Number Of Chokeslams Executed On The Night?
We have a PPV with Kane, Big Show and The Undertaker. The line is set at 6.5. I believe the traders have set it tightly. The 'Over' is 23/20 and the 'Under' is 4/6. It's a tough call. I can envision Show and Kane eliminating people from the battle royal with chokeslams and can definitely see Undertaker do a few on Shane, but will it be more than seven?
Total Number Of Finishing Moves Performed In The Battle Royal
The traders have it set at 1.5 and the 'Over' has seen interest as it has been cut from 5/6 to 1/3.
The ring is going to be packed and it's likely to be a short match. I'm tempted to go under with the 9/4 but - if Randy Orton is in - I think it'll be an overfest.
Total Number Of Ladders In The Ring At The Same Time In The Ladder Match
They have set the total at 2.5 ladders. It went over last year, but there were a lot of ladders that were not used. As of the time of writing, the 'Over' is 3/4 and the 'Under' is EVENS. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the trend and pick 'Over',
Total Time Taken For Undertaker's Entrance
Another Betfair regular whenever The Undertaker is on a card. They have set the line at 5 minutes. The clock starts on the first gong and ends when his first foot enters the ring. The 'Under' has been backed from 5/6 to 4/6 since it first went up.
It's a huge stadium, there will be the usual Undertaker theatrics, so I can't help but think this will go longer than five minutes. It's a bet on The Overtaker ar 23/20.
Triple H To Use A Sledgehammer
The final prop on the board is offering the customers to have a bet on Triple H using the sledgehammer tonight. I jumped on this from the start when it opened at 10/3. It has now been backed heavily into 2/5 mainly due to the release of information that tonight's match will be contested under no disqualification rules.
I still think it's a good bet even though the odds aren't great now.
And there you have it. If you're having a side bet on any of these markets - whether you're on the same side or against - good luck!
I went Under 5 mins for Taker. I timed his last 4 Mania entrances. 3 were under 4 mins & 1 was 4.19 (v Brock). I've seen the set/ramp too. I think under is likely
ReplyDeleteMr Connell, it's his HIAC matches you should have been timing. He takes a few extra seconds to stare at his opponent and shut the cage door behind him :p
ReplyDeleteI did. Taker/HHH at 28 was HIAC
