The Extreme Rules 2016 Prop Bet Post

It's now time for one of my favourite parts of a pay-per-view weekend. It's the Prop Bet Post for Extreme Rules 2016!

If you haven't stumbled across WWELeaks.org before, what I like to do every PPV weekend is have one final look through all the prop bet markets that some bookmakers have lined up for WWE fans who like to have a punt. I look at the current prices, compare them to how they opened and then suggest how I would bet (or not bet in some cases!).

Extreme Rules has seen four companies publish side bets for their customers. They are: Betfair.com, 888Sport.com, Unibet.com and 32Red.com. The final three on the list all share identical odds as their websites are mirrored, so - for this month - I'm using the 888Sport.com markets but please bear in mind that these odds can also be found at Unibet and 32Red.

Okay, with the long-winded introduction out of the way, the first port of call is the aforementioned 888Sport.

The company is offering two specials. The first is specific to how the Fatal 4-Way is concluded and the second is on the number of titles that change hands on the night.

Who Will Concede Defeat In The 4-Way?

I first came across this market on May 19th and here's how the odds were compiled back then:

The Miz 1/1
Sami Zayn 2/1
Cesaro 3/1
Kevin Owens 3/1

This was shortly before The Miz started seeing action in match betting overseas. The market has now seen Miz go from EVENS to 5/1. It now has:

The Miz 5/1
Sami Zayn 11/10
Cesaro 9/10
Kevin Owens 3/1

It's apparent that Sami Zayn is the person that the customers are punting on here. I originally thought it was too obvious to have Zayn as the fall guy in the bout but - if The Miz is booked to win as the potential smart money is indicating - it would have to be Zayn being the guy to do the honours. I can't see them having Cesaro fall on the banana skin for two consecutive PPVs.

Number Of Different Titles To Change Hands During The Event

888Sport had put up these odds originally:

None 3/4
One 5/4
Two 3/1
Three 10/1
Four 20/1
Five 50/1

The 'None' has now gone out to 11/4. I suppose part of the reason is due to Rusev's odds to win the US Championship match being cut off-shore. This has also impacted the 'One' (obviously) as it has now been cut to 1/2 as has the 'Two' which has dipped from 3/1 to 2/1. Here's how it is as of the time of writing:

None 11/4
One 1/2
Two 2/1
Three 10/1
Four 20/1
Five 50/1

If you are still tempted to take the 'None', don't bother betting it here. You want know why? Read on...

All Titles To Be Retained

This is one of the many props up at Betfair.com. The company is offering 4/1 that all titles will be retained on the night. It's more valuable to take this price than what the traders at 888Sport will give you.

The market opened on May 13th and the odds available were 13/2. Therefore, it appears some customers have backed into it already.

A Referee To Be Knocked Down In Any Match?

Betfair has been accepting wagers on this one since May 13th as well. The 'Yes' was originally 8/11 and 'No' was EVENS. They are now showing 'Yes' 4/6 and 'No' 11/10, so it seems the clients like the chance of a ref bump.

I agree with the 'Yes' party. The main event has potential to end in lots of interference so can absolutely see it happening there. Another possible match with a ref bump is the submission match where Ric Flair is banned from being in Charlotte's corner. If the ref is down, it will be an opportune moment for Flair to make an appearance. Which leads me on to...

Live In-House Appearance

Good segue, eh?

The traders have compiled a list of names associated with WWE and New Jersey and they'll pay out if the person you back is shown 'in-house' during the event. The bet does not pay out on backstage skits or video packages etc.

Here's how the list looked this morning:

A visitor to the blog (Jordan Kaye) brought my attention to the following Facebook post by Seth Rollins:

If you're tempted by this tease, the 6/5 on a Seth Rollins return may tempt you even more. What I will say is he is due back imminently. Whether that means tonight is another thing. Jump to the next paragraph if you don't like fantasy booking... What would be cool tonight is if The Club take out The Usos during the tornado match and have them both injured leading to Roman Reigns entering the main event without back-up. This then leads to The Club and AJ Styles beating down Reigns before being saved by Rollins and Dean Ambrose to set up a Shield versus The Club program.

Back to the props..

How Many Different Title Belts Will Be Used As Weapons During The Night?

This market has been available since May 18th and has three options:

No Belts 20/21
One Belt 10/11
2 Or More Belts 9/2

The odds haven't changed here. I would recommend taking a look at 'No' and then the 'One' because they won't use the same sort of spots in different matches. The '2 or More' seems too unlikely.

Longest Running Match Of The Night

This is another new prop that I haven't seen Betfair offer before. This one gives the customer the opportunity to predict which match is the longest on the night. The odds are:

World Heavyweight Championship 1/2
Women's Championship 10/1
Intercontinental Championship 5/4
Tag Team Championship 8/1
US Championship 11/8
Any Other Non-Title Match 20/1

The main event was first drawn up at 4/6, so the customers have backed that. I would have placed a bet on the World Heavyweight Championship match as it should be the longest of the night. I'm going to pass because I don't know how serious AJ Styles' ankle issues are. He has taken some time off the past week or so to rest up for this match. If I were forced to make a pick, I'd hold my nose and pick the 20/1 hoping they give Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho a bit of time for their asylum match. In fact.. I will take that bet for real. I convinced myself in one sentence.

Total Number Of Announcer Tables Broken On The Night

This is an Over/Under market where customers were initially offered a line of 0.5 tables. The 'Over' was set at 4/6 and the 'Under' was 11/10.

I backed the 'Over' as soon as it went up. As did others because the price was cut to 1/2 within days.

On this week's episode of Raw, Roman Reigns hinted to AJ Styles that, if he felt like it during the match, he would put AJ Styles through an announce table. The hint was enough for the bookmaker to change the line to 1.5 tables.

The 'Over 1.5 Tables' is 10/11 and the 'Under' is 4/5.

As I have already backed the Over with the 0.5 line, I'm happy with my bet. I won't be looking to back the 'Over 1.5' or 'Under 1.5' now. The moral of this story is to grab the price or line whenever you can!

And there you have it for another month. Good luck if you've had a bet on any of these props!

  1. Help me, I forgot: "must be seen at ringside" means that backstage skits won't count? It's almost given that Steph and/or Shane will show their face on the PPV.

Styles is advertised to team with Anderson & Gallows vs Reigns, Ambrose & Cena for Memorial Day RAW. This could potentially mean that Styles stays in The Club and Balor won't make an appearance in the main event tonight.

Jericho is also advertised for Memorial Day RAW.

    1. Backstage skits do not count because they are not at ringside nor 'in-house' meaning within the arena.

I've written in previous posts that the Balor rumour won't happen until after the next TakeOver show. Why would they have him in as a heel on WWE TV when he's working a babyface against Joe in the main event in a few weeks? I am confident he won't be brought in until after June 8th.

As for Jericho - he was advertised for the July tours for months. I guess people may have bought into his Tweets where he claims he's leaving or something, but I was never in doubt as to how long he's around for. I would go so far as to predict he's in until SummerSlam at least. J
