MITB 2016 Betting: Looking To Cash In On A Cash In

With the WWE landscape about to change within the next few months, I have placed a bet on this year's Money in the Bank winner cashing in his title shot before SummerSlam 2016.

The oddsmakers at 888Sport.com, 32Red.com and Unibet.com are all offering a Money in the Bank prop market where customers can punt on when the briefcase winner will execute his contract. This market has been available for a few weeks and the odds are currently showing as:

I was initially looking at the title shot being cashed in far later than this summer, but this week has made me consider that the 4/1 for 'On MITB until before SummerSlam' is too good to overlook.

Firstly, if there is anything to Chris Jericho's price having shortened overseas (it's still an if for the time being), then I would not be surprised to see an early cash-in being used to set up something for, or leading up to, SummerSlam.

If all reports turn accurate, a second world title is on the way. If they allow the upcoming Mr. Money in the Bank to execute his title shot on either of the titles, the chance of an early cash-in should not be discounted.

And then there's Smackdown.

From July 19th, Smackdown will air live on Tuesday nights. If the company is looking for something to make the programme a not miss show, one route they could take is to have the Money in the Bank contract cashed in during one of the early episodes.

The only thing working against this idea is the question over a second world champ. If a new titleholder isn't crowned before SummerSlam, then the chance of winning the bet should be low as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship could still be associated with the Raw brand post-draft.

I'll be keeping an eye on how things develop from June 19th all the way through to the final week of TV leading into SummerSlam. If things go my way, the bet could be a winner long before August 21st.

As noted, the market is available from 888Sport.com, 32Red.com and Unibet.com. Odds correct as of 10am BST today.
