A video showing the former Basketball player and Big Show has just made its way to Twitter on the WWE's account with the following:
Breaking: Did The Big Show just challenge NBA legend Shaq to a match at WrestleMania?
The Betfair Sportsbook has a WrestleMania themed prop market where customers can bet on O'Neal being in an official match at next year's Mania. The odds on the 'Yes' are currently 5/4 while the 'No' is 8/15.
This market was opened a few days after this year's WrestleMania. The event saw O'Neal enter the Andre the Giant Battle Royal and interact with Show building on previous history from when O'Neal was a guest host on Raw a number of years ago.
The 'Yes' opened at 4/5 and the 'No' was 10/11, so it appears the customers have no faith in the match taking place despite all signs pointing to the 'Yes'. For example, Shaq had mentioned in a WWE.com interview that he wanted to wrestle Big Show, WWE has wanted this match for years and - most importantly - WrestleMania 33 is taking place from Orlando: the city where he started his NBA career.
The market is still available as of 1:50am BST and can be found under 'Special Bets' on the sportsbook menu at Betfair.com.

ReplyDeleteWith Akebono it was sumo wrestling, with Mayweather it was boxing, and with Shaq it will be... basketball? I just can't see how they put Shaq in a regular (or gimmicked) wrestling match - unless it's a Rodman type of deal where they put him in a mixed tag.
Shaq is going into the HoF and that will be all :)

DeleteThey won't do all this for a Hall of Fame induction. They've wanted this match for years and it's the perfect location and time for it.
Time to start shifting to 'Yes.'
