2017 Rumble Appearance Odds Published

Following on from a discussion about Royal Rumble appearance markets in this post a few days ago, the oddsmakers from Kambi have published a list where customers can bet on certain wrestlers, or celebrities, being entered into the upcoming Royal Rumble.

As of the time of writing, there are fourteen names listed for clients to wager on. One of the selections - James Ellsworth - was named in the comment section of the aforementioned blog post and is included in this list.

Here are the names along with their odds and some thoughts

Bill Goldberg 6/4
I am thinking that the Survivor Series really will be his final time in the ring. And if I wrong, it'll be a waste putting him in this match if he isn't going to win.

Brock Lesnar 4/6
There's a good chance Brock Lesnar is entered into the 2017 Royal Rumble and I think there's great value in 4/6 here considering he's 1/4 to be one of the final four participants in the Rumble winner market with the very same bookmakers.

CM Punk 11/1
I don't have hopes of this one happening.

Conor McGregor 4/1
There's more chance of CM Punk being in the 2017 Rumble!

Finn Balor 4/5
Balor is one of my picks to win the Rumble, so I am not going to state that this isn't going to happen, am I?

Hulk Hogan 9/1
Hogan's days of wrestling are numbered. I highly doubt he'll be in the match, but I'm not ruling out a Hulkster return to WWE sometime in 2017.

James Ellsworth 3/5
I think this has a very good shot at coming in and the question about whether we could bet on him being in this match is what prompted these markets to be published earlier than usual.

Samoa Joe 8/13
I also like this one. I think Joe will be on the main roster by the Rumble.

Shawn Michaels EVS
With the Rumble taking place at the Alamodome in Michaels' hometown of San Antonio, Texas there have been rumours that he'll take on AJ Styles at the event. I'll believe this when I see it. If - and it's IF - he returns, it should be in a singles match. Having him return for a Royal Rumble appearance would be a waste, in my opinion.

Shinsuke Nakamura EVS
This week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted that there are currently no plans to move Nakamura up to the main roster. Crazy.

Steve Austin 5/1
Cannot see this happening at all.

The Rock 7/4
See Steve Austin.

The Undertaker 11/20
It's one of those selections that wouldn't surprise me if it happened, but I doubt it.

HHH 11/10
As of right now, I can't see how it makes sense for Triple H to be in the match.

Thanks to the person at Kambi for putting up these odds sooner than I was expecting.

  1. Just made an early punt on Undertaker.

There will be a huge crowd on hand I guess, and it wouldn't surprise me if their thinking is that this requires a huge pop. Winner will be someone who is perceived as a Cena or Undertaker.

  2. Love how balor final 4 odds are worse then for him to actually appear in the rumble match

  3. Since May I have may speculation The Undertaker would win the Royal Rumble. Just made a punt on him to win it.

  4. Would they publish more upon request? I have someone in mind with a chance of appearing and he's not on the list
