Chris Jericho's Royal Rumble Odds Shorten

Customers of the Kambi Sportsbooks that are accepting wagers on the 2017 Royal Rumble have forced the oddsmakers to cut Chris Jericho's odds of winning next year's battle royal from 50/1 to 33/1.

This move coincides with subtle hints of tension between Jericho and WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens, during last night's episode of Raw.

The pair have been playing off one another for months  and it's obviously setting up a feud between the duo. The question - is it building to a WrestleMania 33 showdown or to something sooner?

The price being cut from 50s is a sign that some punters are predicting Jericho and Owens will continue the double act into the new year and the pair will enter into a feud following a Royal Rumble victory by Jericho leading to him deciding to face Kevin Owens for the championship at Mania.

Even though I think the above is a great idea, I believe we'll see the team of Kevin and Chris split off sooner than that. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the team of Chris and Kevin explodes in time to build to a singles match between the two Canadians at the Survivor Series in Toronto.

It's worth noting that the current WWE storyline has Owens and Jericho booked on one of the teams to represent the Raw brand in opposition to the Smackdown brand in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match. If this does end up being the route the story takes, another option that would not shock me is if the company goes with Jericho versus Owens in a singles match at the Royal Rumble.

The cut from 50/1 to 33/1 now means that the Kambi bookies are now offering the market price for a Jericho win. Paddy Power has had Y2J at 33s ever since its book was published last month.

Odds correct as of the time of publishing. They can be found across all of the websites listed on this page.
