Cena's Decision And What To Watch Out For

We're not long away from tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown where all eyes, and ears, will be on John Cena's return.

From a betting perspective, I'm anxiously awaiting where this story goes. It'll either end up with him announcing that he's a participant in the Royal Rumble or - in what I am currently leaning on - him being set up as a challenger to AJ Styles' WWE Championship.

If it is the latter, I fully expect The Undertaker's Rumble winner odds to drop by lunchtime.

If not sooner.

WWE fans are aware of the possible Cena versus Undertaker match at WrestleMania 33 and the obvious route this could go is to have Cena wrest the title from Styles and then have The Undertaker overcome his opposition in the Royal Rumble battle royal to secure a title shot against Cena.

It makes sense on paper. However, there's another brand in the equation. The Rumble could very well be won by somebody from Raw to set up a Universal Championship challenger.

So, even though Undertaker will surely become one of the strong contenders if Cena is inserted into the title match for January 29th, it doesn't necessarily mean that he will win the match.

For what it's worth, The Undertaker is currently available at the following prices:

16/1 at Betfair.com, PaddyPower.com and WilliamHill.com
20/1 on Ladbrokes' WWE Betting Page

As of the time of writing, John Cena remains third in my 'list' of potential winners. I am not going to move him down (or rather out) until I know for certain what he's doing at the Royal Rumble. This is the list as of 11:10pm GMT tonight:

Chris Jericho
Braun Strowman
John Cena
Finn Balor
The Undertaker

I'll revisit this ranking sometime tomorrow.

  1. Out of curiosity, how far up the list would The Undertaker move up for you if it gets announced it's Cena vs Styles for the WWE title at Royal Rumble?

  2. I've placed a punt on taker at 20/1 after Cena announced he will face AJ Styles at Royal Rumble for the WWE Title.
