Kambi's 2017 WWE Royal Rumble Specials

The traders who compile odds for Kambi have - as of early this evening - republished their 2017 WWE Royal Rumble match winner and final four finishing position odds.

But, that's not all. They have now priced up other specials markets for January's battle royal.

In this post, I'll share with you some of the things that you can find on the WWE Betting Page.

Best Finishing Position

This is a head-to-head where some selections are placed together. The winning selection is the person who outlasts the other.

For example, the most obvious head-to-head is one where Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg are against each other.

The traders have Goldberg at EVENS to be in the match longer than Lesnar while the latter is 18/25.

As I sit here and think this through, I find the 'Goldberg' selection the most appealing of the two. Sure, Lesnar has to get something back after the Survivor Series loss. I have a feeling one of two things will happen - BOTH eliminate each other at the same time or Goldberg throws out Lesnar resulting in 'The Beast' re-entering the ring and beating down Goldberg.

The other options are:

Chris Jericho 4/6
Kevin Owens 9/10

I'm hoping Kevin Owens isn't in this as it would mean he is no longer WWE Universal Champion. Both wrestlers must be a part of the match for the wagers to be settled as winners or losers.

Finn Balor 1/2
Kevin Owens 7/5

Same as above, I hope Kevin Owens isn't in this match.

Finn Balor 13/20
Seth Rollins 11/10

Once again, it depends if both wrestlers are in this match. If Balor is in, then I cannot see him losing it.

John Cena 4/6
Randy Orton 27/25

John Cena is one of my picks to win the match, so he's my choice in this head-to-head.

Braun Strowman 13/20
Baron Corbin 11/10

In my opinion, Braun Strowman is a potential dark horse to win the Rumble if Roman Reigns is Universal Champion by January 29th.

Big Cass EVS
Rusev 18/25

This one seems right.

Randy Orton 18/25
Bray Wyatt EVS

For some reason, I like Wyatt over Orton here.

Cesaro 9/10
Sheamus 4/5

Tough one.

The Undertaker 19/20
John Cena 3.4

I am expecting this one to be voided as I have a feeling one of these wrestlers will challenge for the WWE Championship on the show.

Samoa Joe 3/5
Shinsuke Nakamura 6/5

I can't see both participating, so expect this one to be voided out as well.

Participant To Make The Most Eliminations

These markets are similar to the above. However, this time you're betting on which person eliminates the most wrestlers of the two.

Entry Order

This market will pay out on the selection that enters first between two options. The options are:

Bill Goldberg 6/5
Brock Lesnar 3/5

I am tempted to take the 6/5 for Bill Goldberg. A big part of his act is the entrance and the only chance to have it done properly is if he is the first or second entrant. The obvious drawback is it would mean he would have to be in the match for a long time to set up Lesnar's appearance.

John Cena 23/50
The Undertaker 6/4

As above, I have a feeling at least one of these selections will end up being a non-runner.

Seth Rollins 1/2
Finn Balor 7/5

If both wrestlers are in this match, it would make sense for Balor to be in late for the surprise element. Some might wonder whether Balor is first or second so they can get his special entrance in if he's the Demon King, but I think it'll be too bright in the Alamodome to do it properly.

Historical Records

There are a few markets available where customers can bet on some of WWE's Royal Rumble records being broken on the night. They are:

- Record for fastest elimination being broken (Santino Marella 1.9 seconds in 2009) 7/10
- Record for longest Royal Rumble match to be broken (1 hr 10 mins in 2011) 6/4
- Record for longest time in the match to be broken (Rey Mysterio 1:02:12 in 2006) 2/1
- Record for most eliminations to be broken (Roman Reigns 12 eliminations in 2014) 3/1

This time last year, I was adamant that Rey Mysterio's record would end up being broken because he was no longer working for WWE. Since then, WWE has sort of thrown his name out now and again, so I don't think that they're desperate to forget about him. With that said, it is the only option I would choose if I had to select one. Roman Reigns' record is going to be protected and the longest Rumble match from 2011 broke the time record because it featured forty participants.

Match Entries

This market was available previous to today. There are new additions like Tye Dillinger. I'm interested to see what odds I can get on him being entrant number 10.

Other Match Specials

There are other match specials available for customers. As of the time of writing, the firms have three options but I am sure more will be added along the way. The ones currently available are:

- A female to be one of the official match participants 2/1

I don't believe this would be a good idea after the year the women have had.

- Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar to be the final two participants EVS

A regular visitor has a feeling that Goldberg and Lesnar will end up being the final two, so I'm sure he'll be interested in this option.

- Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar to eliminate each other simultaneously 33/50

This seems to be what many people are predicting.

And that's it for now. As per usual, the odds were correct as of the time of writing so they may have changed by the time you're reading this. You can view the live odds on the following pages:

  1. I think this is going to be the most star-studded Rumble since 1992. For that reason I don't think we'll see one particular entrant dominate throughout the match. The records for longest time in the match and most eliminations probably won't be broken.
