Balor Is The Punters' Pick To Eliminate Undertaker At The Rumble

Finn Balor has been the most backed wrestler in a Royal Rumble market where Coral customers can bet on 'Who Will Eliminate The Undertaker?'

Odds for this proposition where published well over a week ago. Balor opened as a 10/1 shot. I have been told that more than half of the bets struck on the market have landed on the Irishman forcing the oddsmakers to cut him into 4/1.

At the time the odds were installed, The Undertaker was a favourite to win the match. This meant the 'Undertaker Wins The Royal Rumble' option was also favoured in this market. As Taker's price has drifted out in the outrights, it has moved up here.

This leaves Samoa Joe as a 2/1 fave to get rid of The Deadman. His price has remained stationary as the table below shows:

Who Will Eliminate The Undertaker?

When I first wrote about the market on the 13th, I noted that I had bet on Samoa Joe and Finn Balor.

The bet on Samoa Joe was because I felt that it would set up a match between the two at WrestleMania. I have since progressed (or might end up being 'regressed' by January 30th) and have fully bought into the idea that Joe's opponent at Mania could be John Cena for the WWE Championship. To get there, I think he has to win the Royal Rumble.

As for Balor - even though I think there's only a slight chance Balor is in the match, I couldn't resist the 10/1 as a speculative punt because there has been endless talk for years about Finn Balor versus The Undertaker being a dream match for WrestleMania. It has certainly overtaken the Sting .vs. Undertaker wish ever since Sting announced his retirement from pro wrestling. If you're still looking to bet on Balor ending Taker's run in the match, then you can find him at 9/1 in Sky Bet's Request a Bet Rumble Market.

Braun Strowman's price moving from 3/1 to 4/1 is interesting as I would have expected it to come in now that he's an industry favourite to win the match. A showdown between Strowman and The Undertaker has been teased for inside this match.

Yet another option that I thought would have seen some interest is the 'Any Other' at 8/1. As Baron Corbin isn't listed, I thought that punters who are expecting Corbin to do well would have taken a bite at that price. Getting rid of The Undertaker would be a huge scalp for him,

The market can be found alongside a handful of other Royal Rumble specials in the TV Specials section of the Coral.co.uk Sportsbook.
