While checking Betfair's WWE Extreme Rules 2017 odds last night, I noticed that the website now has a market for the 2018 Royal Rumble.
The odds are identical to its partner, Paddy Power.
Roman Reigns is a 15/8 favourite. As many wrestling fans are aware - there are reports that the WrestleMania 34 main event could see Reigns taking on Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship, so that would explain why the traders - and punters - have him at the top of the pecking order.
Even though Reigns is the rumoured challenger from the Raw brand, this does not necessarily mean he will win the Rumble. A member of the Smackdown roster could be victorious in the battle royal and challenge for the WWE Championship.
Looking at the market, the top few names are Raw stars. The first two Smackdown representatives on the list are AJ Styles and John Cena. They're 8/1 each.
I'll have a proper look through the mark once Extreme Rules is out of the way. In the meantime, you can find the odds under 'Special Bets' on the Betfair Website.
