Three Flips In 5Dimes' WWE Battleground Markets

There have been a handful of flips in the WWE Battleground 2017 betting markets that are available from the 5Dimes Website. The moves have seen Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin enter favouritsism.

Orton is now a -130 favourite to win the WWE World Championship inside the Punjabi prison. This move sees the current titleholder, Jinder Mahal, jump out to -110 from -225.

It's close to a pick 'em, but it's Owens who has the edge as his price has slupped from +160.

Baron Corbin has shortened within the past hour or so. You can see how his odds have descended in the times I've tracked the market below.

  1. I don't believe Styles and nakamura losing . Especially Nakamura

Do you think Corbin is winning irrespective of having brief case

  2. I don't think this is smart money. I think smart money came in days ago. However, if by some chance Orton remains a favorite, look for Corbin to successfully cash in.

    1. Orton, Owens and Corbin were backed days ago.

    2. So does this mean this is smart money

I mean why would they have Styles lose US title when they teased Nakamura , Cena , and open challenge matches

And do you actually believe they would have Nakamura lose to the Mr.mitb in a B PPV

    3. Same answer as every other occasion when there's strong betting - we won't know for sure until after the event.

    4. open challenge already been done before and it'll come across repetitive and plus aj styles should be fighting for the championship not us title

    5. I still remember when Calisto and Del Rio change USA tutle every week)) so Styles can win it back

    6. What about that tease between him , Cena and Nakamura for US title

Plus I don't see Styles in main event scene this year because Nakamura - Corbin feud is going on and once Corbin wins , Nakamura will be the one who will take WWE title from Corbin

  3. I sense a possible cash-in. I will be in shock if Corbin win clear

Also i think Sami Zayn odds will flip.

    1. I had Zayn winning as well.

    2. If Orton does win, I see Jinder and/or the Singhs attacking him post match, setting the stage for Corbin to cash in.

    3. why would kanelis lose his first ppv? wouldnt make sense

    4. Orton and Owens winning would change whole original plans

Will they have another multi men match like Universal title

What would Cena do at Summerslam ? Nakamura

Will Styles vs Owens happen again , and WWE forgets about what Styles said about bringing back US title prestige and open challenge matches

    5. Yep. He will get attacked afterwards and when they leave and Randy is struggling to get up in the corner expect "Superhuman" to hit and Michael Cole to get over excited.

    6. Zayn is the No 1 Jobber and it's Kanellis PPV Debut...

    7. Zayn lost to Kanellis on Smackdown. Rule of thumb used to be to go with 50/50 booking.

    8. I think in the promo leading to the match they will make a big point that Maria helped him win on Smackdown and it will make people believe that's how he will win this PPV but I think Sami will get a sneaky pin off instead... That's if he wins. We shall have to see now.

    9. I mean you are right about 50 / 50 booking rule , but Owens pinned Styles on Smackdown too .

    10. The Smackdown win is because AJ won the title beforehand. Kevin Owens makes sense if the company wants to keep pushing him as the new face of America - Cena will have a problem with KO being the face of America after his flag match. The stuff writes itself really.

    11. Owens got pinned by Cena on Smackdown like a jobber

      I don't see this feud happening .

KO Winning here would be really wierd and hot potato of titles just devaluates the title

And that face of America gimmick isn't working for him

      Delete
    12. Natalya pinned Becky at SD and also in the 6 Womens Tag Team Match. It's not always 50/50

      Delete
  4. Hey Taylor , what do you think about Natalya

Her odds flips heavily as if gamblers got information from insiders

Do you think it's Charlotte or Natalya

    1. Hey Mania, I think it's Natalya.

    2. I think Natalya vs. Naomi is too small for Summerslam. If Charlotte wins. Naomi vs. Charlotte, Charlotte wins, Cash in Carmella, Heel Turn Charlotte the next weeks. And Charlotte is -280 now.

  5. Hey David,

Just wanted to say first of all that I love the work you do here; as a hardcore pro wrestling fan, it's great to have a centralized location where I can determine whether or not it's worth my time to watch an entire PPV.

What are your thoughts on this main event tonight? I honestly feel like it's the best decision booking-wise for Jinder to lose and Corbin to cash in, but do you think it will happen given these flips? Normally I'd be a bit peeved that Corbin would beat Nakamura, but I think it's justified if he's winning the title tonight (which is a bit funny because it feels like most of the time when someone cashes in MITB, they will have done so after losing their last PPV singles match).

    1. Hi,
      Thanks for your comment.
If I wipe the odds for a moment, I would have preferred Jinder Mahal going on a little longer because I was enjoying his act.
If there is anything to the odds at this point, and Orton is winning, I could see the cash-in tonight. I'm not as confident in it happening as I would have been if I saw Nakamura still as favourite, though.

    2. ^ I meant enjoying Jinder Mahal's act as a champion.

      Delete
    3. To each's own; I'm personally not really into Jinder, and I feel like I won't be into Corbin either as the WWE Champion, so for my own personal enjoyment of SmackDown (which I feel has been a disappointing week-to-week product given their talent roster post-Shakeup), I think it's a better scenario to get both title reigns over as soon as possible.

As far as the US title match odds flip goes, since WWE is rumored to be very into the idea of multi-man matches for SummerSlam, do you think we could see a Owens/Cena/Styles Triple Threat to go along with a possible Corbin/Mahal/Orton WWE title match?

      Delete
    4. I don't think so.

If the Universal Championship match is a multi-person, I believe the World Championship match should be a singles. It would seem lazy if the two premier matches are like that, imo.
