Majority Of Outsiders Backed In Paddy Power's Battleground 2017 Markets

There have been price changes made to the WWE Battleground 2017 markets that are available from the Paddy Power Sportsbook overnight. The punters appear to have backed outsiders in the majority of markets with a few exceptions.

Tye Dillinger .vs. Aiden English
The babyface to win on the pre-show has moved in from 1/2 to 4/11 while Aiden English has drifted from 6/4 to 15/8.

AJ Styles .vs. Kevin Owens
When I last checked in, Kevin Owens was 15/8. He is now down to 5/4. This has sent AJ Styles up from 1/3 to 8/15.

Mike Kanellis .vs. Sami Zayn
Kanellis has moved in from 8/11 to 4/7 while Zayn has increased from EVS to 5/4.

Fatal 5-Way
Charlotte Flair's odds to win the fatal 5-way elimination match have lowered from 5/6 into 4/6.

Another selection that has been cut is Natalya. She is now 8/1 from 10/1. Other than Becky Lynch, who remains at 3/1, Lana and Tamina have drifted out.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The Usos' price has moved in from 13/8 to 6/4. With the champs' being backed, the oddsmakers have moved The New Day out to 1/2 from 4/9.

Shinsuke Nakamura .vs. Baron Corbin
A Baron Corbin win has been snipped from 7/4 into 6/4 with Nakamura moving up to 1/2 from 2/5.

Flag Match
The punters have backed Rusev to win the flag match as he has been lowered from 5/1 into 4/1. John Cena is still the favourite, but his price has moved from 1/10 to 1/7.

WWE Championship
The challenger to Jinder Mahal's strap - Randy Orton - has moved in from 11/5 to 13/8. A successful bet on the WWE Champion will now pay out at odds of 4/9. Before today, you would have only got 3/10.

Observations
Looking at the moves, my call is to state that the punters have blindly backed the outsiders in all of the matches other than the bouts that should be the easiest to call. If you look below, I've grouped the names of the selections that were backed.

Favourites That Have Been Backed
Tye Dillinger, Mike Kanellis, Charlotte Flair,

Outsiders That Have Been Backed
Kevin Owens, Natalya, The Usos, Baron Corbin, Rusev, Randy Orton

Tye Dillinger winning on the pre-show is something the majority of punters would blindly back because he's the babyface in that match. In the case of Mike Kanellis - it's his first PPV match, so the clients may have backed him in the belief that the company won't have him lose straight away.

With that said, I've bet on Zayn to win against Kanellis. The wager was a speculative punt because Sami took the fall against Kanellis on Tuesday night, so my bet was on WWE booking rather than giving the newcomer a win on his PPV debut.
