A Bet That I've Placed For Sunday

The Kambi oddsmakers have added more WWE Survivor Series markets to their coverage of Sunday's PPV since the most recent post. The markets in question are 'Best Finishing Position' specials for the elimination matches.

I don't intend to go through all of them, but I would like to write about something that I noticed on Raw this Monday and have been teasing a couple of visitors that I was waiting for a market - or markets - to be published before I went into detail.

These specials now allow me to address what I think might happen on Sunday. However, the odds aren't that great.

John Cena appears in two of these best finishing position markets. In the first he's 4/9 to do better than Triple H and he's 2/5 to last longer than Randy Orton.

With Cena on the same team as Orton, I'm only going to back Cena to outlast Triple H on Sunday.

And here's why.

If the plan is for Smackdown to win the 5-on-5 elimination match on Sunday and add more fuel to the animosity between Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon, then I believe John Cena has to be one of the survivors.

On Monday night, one part of Stephanie's verbal beatdown of Kurt Angle focused on the latter not having signed up Cena to be  part of Team Raw. With this prominent in the story, I believe Cena has to be one of the survivors on Team Smackdown if the team goes over on Sunday.

I've heard that with Cena being  a free agent, losing to someone on the Raw team could set up a future rivalry (ie Samoa Joe) and that does make sense. However, I think Cena being one of the survivors in the match will allow for Stephanie to have another reason to attack Kurt Angle in the fallout from Sunday.

It's something that stood out on Raw and I was quite surprised that nobody had brought it up in the days following the promo.

We'll find out on Sunday if it's something I've overthought.

  1. After reading this, I think it makes sense for Cena to be sole survivor

But if Nakamura is planned to be in a title match at WrestleMania, then don't you think WWE might make him a survivor

But again Cena seems logical option but I wouldn't count out Nakamura too

    1. I don't think Cena should be a sole survivor, but he should be a survivor.

    2. Good shout Dave and this is why they have done a great job building up this match. Some people think that Bryan will turn, some think Owens and Zayn will interfere, some think that Jordan will interfere. Im going with the theory that Angle will simply get his revenge HHH for his attack on his son, surely they can't expect us to think that a father would just ignore this and get along with the man who attacked his son. Angle and HHH are the two remaining for Raw against one man on SD and Angle turns on HHH and then you get the "Fire me? Nah I quit" promo.
