Kambi's Survivor Series WON Star Ratings Specials

In the most recent post, I mentioned that the Kambi oddsmakers had released their betting odds for this weekend's Survivor Series. I went through the match markets, but noted that I would cover the Wrestling Observer Newsletter star rating specials in a separate post.

For people new to this - these specials are specific to Dave Meltzer's popular star ratings that he gives to matches in his reviews of wrestling matches.

As per usual, there are three kinds of markets available to the customers. The first are Over/Under specials where customers can bet whether they believe the newsletter's editor - Dave Meltzer - will rate a match above, below or exactly how the oddsmakers have predicted. The second type of market is a list where customers can have a punt on the match that receives the most star ratings in Meltzer's review of the Survivor Series, which should appear in the upcoming issue of the newsletter. Finally, there is a special where clients can have a punt on any bout on the night receiving five or more stars in Meltzer's write-up.

Over/Unders
Every single match, that has been confirmed so far, has been covered by the oddsmakers. The lines are as follows:

Enzo Amore .vs. Kalisto 1.75 Stars
Alexa Bliss .vs. Charlotte Flair 3.25 Stars
Brock Lesnar .vs. AJ Styles 4.25 Stars
The Usos .vs. Sheamus and Cesaro 4.00 Stars
Men's Elimination Match 4.50 Stars
The Miz .vs. Baron Corbin 2.50 Stars
The Shield .vs. The New Day 4.00 Stars
Women's Elimination Match 2.75 Stars

Once I've published this post, I plan to have a bet on the Miz versus Baron Corbin match to receive less than two-and-a-half stars at 23/20.

Highest Rated Match
With the men's 5-on-5 elimination match having the highest line in the above markets, it should come as no surprise to see that it's the favourite to receive the most stars in Kambi's 'Highest Rated Match' market.

Observer Survivor Series 2017 Star Ratings Betting Odds

Any Match To Receive 5 Stars Or More
If any of the matches on Sunday's card is rated five stars or more, the oddsmakers will pay out winning bets at odds of 13/2.

These are markets that I plan to cover across the weekend. There will also be a post next week once they're settled.

Prices and lines correct as of Friday morning. Markets available from the websites that publish betting odds from Kambi. A couple of examples can be found below:

  1. I feel like Shield vs New day is kinda low. Their matches have always been either 4.25 or 4.5

Lesnar - AJ is atleast guaranteed to be a 4 star match, if Lesnar is motivated and they get more than 10 minutes, this match will be lesnar's best one on one match in a long time. MELTZER rated Lesnar's matches with Goldberg and Joe as 3.5. AJ is better athlete and Better wrestler than both, it should be fun little David vs Goliath type of match

As for the actual main event, last year Meltzer rated Elimination match as 4.5. this year, Star power is too high. I think it will be 4.5 - 4.75

    1. Yeah Ive taken the fav on this one, like you say far too much star power, should last around 45 mins, good story telling, good spots. Dont think Lesnar and AJ will do better than 4 stars, wont get time, won't be believable if its back and forth. Looking forward to it though
