Goldberg's HOF Odds Plummet

The Kambi oddsmakers have slashed Bill Goldberg's odds of being the main star at next year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

When I looked over the market yesterday morning, the former WWE Universal Champion was 4/1 to be the headline act of the event that will take place on WrestleMania weekend.

He has now been cut into 1/8 favourite.

And there's a good reason why.

A Twitter user named Brad Shepard (@TheBradShepard) delivered a tweet yesterday claiming that Goldberg was one of five names listed for the April ceremony.

The Hall of Fame betting market was taken down as soon as the news spread. It was republished this morning. The adjusted prices - and how betting has affected the odds - can be viewed by clicking on the table below.

With Goldberg now the favourite, the oddsmakers have moved other selections out.

The Undertaker has moved from 3/4 into 6/4, Batista from 6/4 to 6/1, Chris Jericho from 3/1 to 6/1 (Jericho's band Fozzy is on tour during WrestleMania weekend, so he's certainly not going to be available), Daniel Bryan from 5/1 to 15/2, The Rock from 15/2 to 10/1, Big Show from 10/1 to 20/1 and Vader also from 10s into 20/1.

The other names rumoured to be inducted are Bam Bam Bigelow, The Dudleys, Kid Rock (Celebrity induction) and Ivory.

I read this morning that Ivory's induction may be a way for WWE to bring the stars of the Netflix series - GLOW - in for WrestleMania weekend. This ties in well considering Ivory is one of the wrestlers from the GLOW promotion that the series is loosely based on.

The market is available from the websites that publish Kambi's WWE odds. It's worth noting that - for bets to be graded as a winner - the person you bet on must be the headliner of the evening.
