Rousey To Face Jax At MITB 2018 And How It Could Impact Some Betting Markets

The latest news coming out of WWE is that Ronda Rousey will challenge Nia Jax for the Raw Women's Championship at Money in the Bank 2018 on June 17th.

This announcement has already impacted at least one betting market and could lead to at least another two seeing interest from wrestling putners.

A special, where customers can bet on the time-frame when Rousey wins either of the two major women's championships in WWE, saw the odds for 'Before or During Money in the Bank 2018' drop from 12/1 to 10/1.

Ronda Rousey Road to WrestleMania 35 Betting Odds

I looked over the market a little over an hour before WWE released the story. At the time, the prices from May 11th were still showing. Then, shortly before their 7PM BST removal, I looked again and noticed the aforementioned 'Before or During Money in the Bank' option cut from 12s into 10/1 and also realised that 'Between Royal Rumble, But Before WrestleMania 35' had also been cut. This selection dropped to 7/1 from 10/1.

As regular visitors will be aware, I've written that I had a feeling Rousey would win the title at WrestleMania 35, so I'm surprised to see her already in the title picture after only one televised match.

If Rousey is booked to win the championship at Money in the Bank, then it would not surprise me to see Natalya's odds to win the women's Money in the Bank ladder match decline. The company has already told us that Rousey and the Hart Family member are pals, so - with Ronda as champ - Natalya turning on her friend via a cash-in attempt would set up their feud.  As of right now, Natalya is 10s with Sky Bet.

Charlotte Flair should also become the favourite to win next year's women's Royal Rumble match at this point. I have written in the past that it's a two-horse race. Rousey as champ eliminates one of the runners in said race.
