Super Show-Down Odds Update Ahead Of September 24th Raw

It has been days since I last wrote about the 5Dimes Sportsbook's WWE Super Show-Down markets, so this post will serve as an update. I'll go through each market and point out where the bettors have been punting since I first began to keep track of the wagering.

Becky Lynch .vs. Charlotte Flair
The WWE Smackdown Women's Championship market is one of a few that has been stationary since I first started keeping tabs. Lynch is a -195 fave to successfully retain her title. A winning bet on Charlotte Flair will pay out at +155.

Asuka and Naomi .vs. The IIconics
This one has changed.

Date/Time

As I expected, the Australian team of The IIconics were backed from -120 into -165 between Friday and yesterday morning. However, today's move has gone in favour of their opponents as Asuka and Naomi have been snipped from +125 into +115.

Cedric Alexander .vs. Buddy Murphy
When I checked the WWE Cruiserweight Championship market this morning, it was still showing the same pricing as Friday. It has since moved.

Date/Time
Cedric Alexander

-175
24/9 11:00PM

-170

Alexander has dipped from +130 to +130 to successfully retain the title. As a result, Buddy Murphy's role as favourite has drifted slightly moving up from -175 to -170.

That's two markets where the Australians have surprisingly been faded today, for those paying close attention.

The New Day .vs. The Bar
This another market still showing the same pricing as Friday afternoon. The WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions - The New Day - remain favourites to get a decision over The Bar. They're -600. A win for the challengers will pay out at +400.

AJ Styles .vs. Samoa Joe
AJ Styles' odds have been on the descent. He was a -145 favourite on Friday, but was moved into -155 by yesterday morning. He has since moved into -180 sometime between 9AM and 11PM BST today.

As you can see, Samoa Joe has risen to +140 from +105 since Friday.

Ronda Rousey and the Bella Twins .vs. The Riott Squad
This is another one of the markets that are unchanged. The babyface trio are -900 favourites. The Riott Squad are +500.

The Shield .vs. Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler
Another non-mover. The Shield are -350 to their opponents' +250.

Daniel Bryan .vs. The Miz
This market moved in favour of Daniel Bryan (-155 to -195) between Friday afternoon and this morning. Then - during the day - there appears to have been interest in The Miz as he dropped from +155 into +135.

Bobby Lashley and John Cena .vs. Elias and Kevin Owens
The team of Bobby Lashley and John Cena spent a few days as -530 favourites, but fell to -750 by this morning. They remain at this price as of 11PM BST.

Date/Time

As a result, Elias and Kevin Owens' role as underdogs has increased from +350 to +450.

Triple H .vs. The Undertaker
This has been an active market. The first sign of action moved in favour of Triple H as his number was snipped from +120 into +110 between Friday and yesterday morning. Then, by this morning, it was The Undertaker who seems to have been backed as he dropped from -150 into -165.

I'll have another look through these prices tomorrow.

Prices correct as of 11PM BST on Monday night. The latest can be found under 'Other Sports' on the 5Dimes Website.

  1. Punters should lump on The Miz. Can't believe he's an outsider at 5dimes.

Randy Orton is going to cost Daniel Bryan imo. That's why Orton is making us wait to find out who he's next victim is. Some will argue that Bryan has to win but he doesn't Bryan once again protected in defeat by Orton interference.

Plus i'm 99.9% sure AJ is retaining at Show-Down. Paige has practically told us that this will be the final match in the feud (She said we have to have a clear winner no DQ and no count-out) This tells us in other words that this match is in fact the final match in the AJ v Joe feud as mentioned above therefore the loser has no excuses.

If AJ loses then the feud continues as he's entitled to a rematch. Therefore what's the point in the stipulation to have a clear winner if the feud is going to continue anyway. AJ all the way imo.

My bold prediction as mentioned before HIAC.

    AJ v Miz
    Orton v Bryan

    1. Please don't tell people to 'lump on'. I am the one who has to take the brunt if/when this doesn't happen.

    2. Not telling David I said should do (My opinion). For example.

A - Punters should lump on The Miz (My opinion) if punters don't want to then they don't have to just my opinion for example you should do the lottery this week as it's a 20 million rollover or say someone want's to buy a packet crisps and I reply you should get that flavour as they're the best.

B - Everyone has to / needs to lump on The Miz (Telling) which is the line you are referring to.

Anyway if my original post bothered you then I apologise (Do you want me to delete it and re-word it?)

    3. When you start off a comment with 'Punters should lump on The Miz', you're telling people to bet on The Miz. No crisp analogy can dispute that fact.

    4. Well I know how I meant it. You have taken it the wrong way or we have had a miscommunication i'm not sure if you are from the USA but i'm from the UK and should / telling are completely different. Not being sarcastic or anything by the way.

Like I said earlier if it's a problem and you want me to delete / re-word the post so it doesnt cause you any bother then let me know as i'm more than happy to do that for you.

    5. There’s no miscommunication. I am also in the UK. Why else would all my posts be timed in BST/GMT and use these time zones whenever I write about the markets?

What you must understand is I am not a tipping service. Whenever I write about markets and especially the bets I have placed, I leave it up to the visitor to make up their own judgement. I have never flat out told anyone to ‘lump on’ a selection. And I especially have been more cautious of others in the comment section doing this since the Gambling Commission has been looking at shady websites/blogs that have been profiting from dishing out dud tips. I feel, by allowing the comments to go live, that I too am encouraging reckless betting and want to distance myself – and others who may comment – from, for want of a better word, tipping.

It’s okay to say what you’ve bet on and why in the comments section as well as disagree with what I have bet on, but I have to distance myself and the blog from the comments where other readers are being told to bet on something. Even more so here, because I think you’re all-in on that theory of Miz dropping the title to Daniel Bryan – who has won the Royal Rumble – at WrestleMania. The only thing I agree on with that scenario is there is a babyface chasing a heel champ into Mania. This has been a thing WWE likes to do. At the moment, we have two babyface champions so a heel should win either championship if they do go with this trope for another WrestleMania.

Putting percentages on things happening or not is ridiculous. Having Styles at 99.9% to retain at Super Show-Down does not factor the potential babyface Mania chase (granted it could be too early). Also, have you ever thought that Paige saying that there must be closure to the feud allows for WWE to move in a direction where Joe is champ and AJ is up against somebody like.. Randy Orton?

Styles could very well be the person who Orton has targeted. Styles/Joe is no DQ and would allow for Orton interference. This would perfectly segue Styles away from the championship for now and comply with what Paige said about the feud having to close.

Bryan winning against The Miz will then allow for Joe to go up against the former.

For transparency, I have not placed any bets on the SSD matches, but – I am trying to make a balanced argument as to other scenarios that could play out and not boldly proclaim that Miz is winning.

While I’m being transparent and have tried to balance, I may as well note that the important thing working against Joe winning at SSD is the fact that he is the person who has made the stipulation for the match. Booking 101 would have the babyface overcome in that scenario.

    6. I apologise for saying punters should lump on The Miz. I didn't mean it to come across as the way it seemed. I should have worded my original post a bit better. I shall read through my posts before clicking publish in the future.

Either Bryan to win the Rumble or an Elimination Champion #1 contenders match is what I think yes.

My personal opinion if AJ drops the title at SSD then he looks so weak as he has failed to defend his family's honour throughout the entire feud and Randy interference would protect him but AJ tapped out at HIAC therefore he already goes into this match looking weak imo. Plus I don't like the following storyline (I won't bother going after my rematch as I don't want to be the WWE Champion) Even Jeff wanted his rematch with Nakamura whilst feuding with Orton.

Whilst on the Styles/Orton situation though. I have this down as one of the WrestleMania matches next year.

Another reason why i'm very confident in a Styles/Miz win is because of a lack of babyfaces on the SD brand. There is literally nobody other than Bryan for Samoa Joe to defend the title against if he was to win. Jeff's not getting a title match when he returns imo I wouldn't be surprised if he was to retire soon plus he's far to banged up these day's to get a big push by WWE management, Rey is not getting a championship as soon as he returns personally I think he's mostly back to put over the younger talent and that's it. That leaves AJ and Bryan. SSD is the blow off between AJ and Joe imo so that's that feud out as well.

Possible feuds for the WWE Championship

Joe v Bryan, Joe v Mysterio & Joe v Hardy

      Or

AJ v Miz, AJ v Orton & AJ v Cien Almas

Pretty one sided and an easy decision for WWE management to make imo.

    7. Just saw your tweet. I done the same at HIAC regarding New Day and I wasn't flagged up on it therefore I didn't think I was doing anything wrong.

Apologies for the wording of the original post. Please feel free to delete the comments on the thread if it makes things easier for you. I won't take offence to it.

    8. I don't recall the New Day one, but I do recall you predicting people would lump on one of the selections and that's okay as it's simply guessing how people are going to react if that makes sense.

    9. Not going to delete anything as it's been up almost a day and without the comment there's no context.

  2. Well I know how I meant it. You have your own opinion.

Like I said if it affects you and you want me to delete the post and re-word it then i'm more than happy to do that.
