Evolution Betting Update For Friday Night

Only one of the 5Dimes Sportsbook's match markets for this weekend's WWE Evolution PPV is showing adjusted prices when compared with this morning's visit to the firm's website.

The market of topic is the one for the Mae Young Classic final between Io Shirai and Toni Storm. You'll see, in the table below, that Storm has been on the decline since the market was first installed yesterday.

Date/Time
Io Shirai
Toni Storm
25/10 11:00PM
-140
+100
26/10 10:00AM
+110
-150
26/10 11:00PM
+135
-175

I believe there's a good reason why wrestling fans are backing Storm here.

On future episodes of NXT UK, Storm will make it to the final of a tournament to crown a new NXT UK Women's Champion. She'll fail in this quest.

As the UK tournament final will be aired after Sunday's tournament, it is possible that one of the stories they decide to go with will be about the Mae Young Classic winner possibly doing a double in tournaments before losing to Rhea Ripley.

Either that or Storm will lose two tournament finals in as many months.

As noted, the rest of the sportsbook's regular match markets are showing the same odds as this morning. They are:

Ronda Rousey -900
Nikki Bella +500

Becky Lynch -175
Charlotte Flair +135

Kairi Sane -530
Shayna Baszler +350

Trish Stratus and Lita -395
Alexa Bliss and Mickie James +275*

Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya -130
Riott Squad -110

The battle royal market still lists Ember Moon as a +250 favourite. She's followed by Asuka at +325.

For what it's worth, I pointed out in this morning's post that Asuka (++400 to +320) and Zelina Vega (+7,500 to +2,500) were the only selections whose prices have dropped so far.

Prices correct as of 11PM BST. The latest can be found on THE 5DIMES WEBSITE.

*11:25PM BST Update: After publishing the post, I came across the news that Alexa Bliss has been pulled from the tag match due to injury. She'll be replaced by Alicia Fox.

  1. It's interesting to see that Kairi's odds are still holding up on 5dimes. Her odds are starting to get worse on Skybet and Paddy Power. Kambi odds have been the same for awhile now as well.

If I had to speculate why, I guess its because a lot of people are thinking there will be at least one title change on the show, and the only two titles that realistically have a chance of changing hands are the NXT and Smackdown Women's Titles.

    1. I wrote about Baszler's Paddy Power odds coming in earlier on. Since then, she has drifted out as punters appear to have backed Sane.

I agree with you about this being one of the two titles that could potentially change.

    2. Yup. Although I'm more inclined to bet that the Smackdown Women's Title will change hands, since the lines for it have been tight all week, and I can't remember the last time in modern WWE history that a heel has won a Last (Wo)man standing match. Also there's the fact that Charlotte is one title win away from breaking Trish's record for the most title reigns.
