Notes About Tamina And Corbin/Elias WrestleMania 36 Odds Following Smackdown

I've continued to visit the BetOnline Sportsbook's WWE WrestleMania 36 betting markets as it's the only offshore bookmaker still accepting wagers on the matches that have - and have not! - taken place for the two night event.

One market that caught my attention within the last twenty-fours is the one for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship.

When I checked in yesterday afternoon, I noticed that 'Tamina' had been taken off the board. However, when I looked at them at 10:00AM GMT today, she was back on the list albeit with shorter odds than before.

As you can see above, the oddsmakers have now moved her price down to +3,300.  She had started out at +$,000 when the market was initially priced up.

After noticing the decline, I waited until I watched Smackdown to see if there was anything on the show that could be suggested as the reason why the price was reduced.

All I saw on the show was them making Tamina a 'wild card' for the match by having her beat down Naomi and Lacey Evans. On top of that, Bayley and Sasha Banks avoided a similar assault by escaping.

As I wrote last week, the most logical outcome - as far as I can see - is to have Bayley win with her title, but to do so by adding a few cracks to her friendship with Sasha Banks as the big match is Bayley versus Sasha. One-on-one.

Another market that changed was the one for King Corbin versus Elias. This might have been due to an angle that aired on last night's Smackdown which saw Corbin knock Elias from the side of filming platform inside the Performance Center.

As you can see, the bookmaker has now moved King Corbin's odds up from -125 to -120 but kept Elias at -120.

Michael Cole promised updates to Elias' health will be made on social media over the weekend and it leads me to think a couple of things could happen now.

- Elias wrestles and wins against Corbin

- Rob Gronkowski announces that Elias cannot go and he makes Mojo Rawley Elias' replacement in the match

- Gronkowski replaces Elias

Other than being the host of Mania, the Elias/Corbin Mania program has already been established as Gronk's angle as he was the person who set up the match in the first place and it would make sense for him to assist Elias, Rawley or himself to get one over on Corbin during the event.

Betway lists Elias as an 8/11 favourite for those who are thinking along the same lines as myself. I placed my bet a few days ago as I had a feeling Gronk and Rawley would help Elias in some way before last night's angle made the air.

If the angle results in Rawley or Gronk as the replacement for Elias, any bets on the Elias/Corbin meeting will be voided.
