Sky Bet Releases 24/4 Smackdown And MITB 2020 Match Markets

I don't know exactly when they were published, but at 1:30AM BST this morning, I noticed that Sky Bet has opened up books on the two Money in the Bank qualifiers that are scheduled for Friday night's episode of WWE Smackdown.

The company has also put up a market for the WWE Universal Championship match that will take place at next month's Money in the Bank PPV.

For Friday, Sasha Banks is a 1/3 favourite for the qualifier against Lacey Evans. A decision in favour of the latter will pay out at odds of 9/4.

King Corbin and Drew Gulak will compete in a men's qualifier. As of right now, Corbin is a 1/2 fave while Gulak is 6/4.

Both of those markets are still showing the same pricing from the early hours of this morning. The Universal Championship market - for the PPV - has been adjusted.

Date/Time
Braun Strowman
Bray Wyatt
22/4 1:30AM
8/11
EVS
22/4 9:42AM
4/6
11/10
As you can see, Braun Strowman's odds to successfully retain the WWE Universal Championship against Bray Wyatt have lowered from 8/11 into 4/6. The challenger is up from even money to 11/10.

For what it's worth, I backed Strowman when I found the market. The main reason why I've punted on him is because of this:

Braun Strowman .vs. Bray Wyatt - Money in the Bank 2020

Both the TV and online promotion of the match graphic is using an image of Bray Wyatt sans his Fiend gimmick. Therefore, I believe we're going to see Strowman run through the regular Wyatt character.

Doing this would protect The Fiend from another loss so soon after Goldberg beat him and would allow Strowman to tick off a successful title defence on his first PPV as champion.

With that said, I thought the same thing would happen when they had The Miz wrestle regular Bray Wyatt, in a non-title match, at Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019 and Wyatt still won that one.
