ShowbuzzDaily.com has published the TV viewership numbers for last night's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX.
The episode had a total average of 1,918,500 people tuned in with 1,941,000 recorded for the first hour and 1,896,000 counted between 9:00PM and 10:00PM Eastern.
Going from the top of my head, I believe this is the first time since moving to FOX that the show has fallen below two million.
Kambi's oddsmakers will now settle a couple of markets that were waiting for the Smackdown number.
The first will be a proposition market which asked customers whether Smackdown would have a total average audience of 2,000,000 or higher.
As you can see in the table below, it appears that the consensus backed the option that would have paid out had WWE's show pulled in two million or more. That's because the 'Yes' opened as a 4/5 favourite, was backed into 4/6 within a day after I came across the market and was then down to 13/25 and then 1/2 before the market closed yesterday.
With 'Yes' declining, the 'No' selection - which started out at 9/10 on Sunday - rose right up to 7/5 by last night.
A second proposition, which was available for over a day, before Monday's episode of Raw was broadcast, asked customers to gamble whether or not Smackdown would defeat Raw by 200,000 or more viewers.
As noted in a post published on Tuesday, Raw had 1,817,333 viewers. Therefore, there was a gap of 101,167 viewers between Smackdown and Raw. This means that 'No' will be graded as the winner. It was an even money outsider to the 7/10 for 'Yes'.
Who do you think will be 6th entrant in men's mitb
ReplyDeleteI heard AJ will return this monday
I don't know. Whoever it is should be a heel considering Corbin is the only one in the match so far, so Styles would fit.
DeleteWhat about Black?
ReplyDeleteMajority are picking him to win
I'm in the majority.
DeleteDon't you think a heel should win MITB since it suits heel wrestlers
ReplyDeleteBlack is a babyface and It's tough to imagine his entrance with briefcase
I've always said the MITB should be won by a heel, but I'm going Black because apparently the Rumble was either going to be him or McIntyre and they went with McIntyre because Black was relatively new to the main roster.
DeleteMakes sense where I see it for them to now choose Black here as it allows for him to mature.
Also, cash-ins could be used to cement heel turns so they aren't really backed into a corner completely if it's a babyface winner.
Black is my pick to win too but some are picking 6th entrant ( probably styles ) to win since he is a heel
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about that ?
I prefer the MITB winners to be people who haven't won the titles before.
DeleteNot saying Styles couldn't win it, I just don't think he should as it's not really what the MITB should be about.
Agreed. Styles doesn't need it
