Rousey Rumble Report

There have reports that Ronda Rousey could be on her way back to WWE. As a result, this has affected her odds to win this Saturday's women's Royal Rumble.

Sean Ross Sapp - from Fightful.com - has written that World Wrestling Entertainment is keen to have Rousey in for the Rumble event.

Fightful has a strong track record in covering news. However, from a betting perspective specific to women's wrestling, I should point out that one report from last year stated that Sonya Deville was being considered for the women's Money in the Bank ladder match. This led to her odds of winning being slashed.

The Deville plan, in regards to the ladder match, did not transpire.

As for Rousey and the Rumble - it makes sense considering that there has been a clamouring for a singles match between Rousey and Becky Lynch, who is the current WWE Raw Women's Champion.

With that said, I thought Rousey returning for the build to next year's WrestleMania - in her home of California - seemed more logical before learning of today's report.

As far as the current women's Royal Rumble markets - this evening, Sky Bet halved Rousey's odds from 16/1, Paddy Power / Betfair cut from 25/1 into 10/1 and BetOnline has the Rousey selection at the top of its longlist but does not have a price affixed to it. She had been +2,500.
