The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter was published this morning. It contains the latest batch of G1 Climax 29 reviews from Dave Meltzer.
With the reviews now having been released, Kambi will settle a trio of Over/Under star ratings markets that were priced up for the matches.
KENTA .vs. Kazuchika Okada
Meltzer gave the main event from night nine, KENTA .vs. Kazuchika Okada, four-and-a-half stars in his report. This means that the winning selection, for those who bet on Kambi's O/U market for the bout, will be graded 'Over' the line of 4.25 Stars.
As you'll see in the table below, the consensus felt the match would exceed Kambi's line as the winning selection fell from 4/5 all the way down to 21/50 before the market closed.
Jon Moxley .vs. Tetsuya Naito
Jon Moxley's win over Tetsuya Naito in the B Block main event of night ten was given four-and-a-quarter stars by the newsletter's editor.
Kambi had set the line at 4.25, so it was the 'Exactly 4.25 Stars' option which turned out to be the winning play. It was 2/1 when the market was first installed and also closed at this price. However, there was a period where customers could have found it at 43/20.
Will Ospreay .vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Four-and-a-half stars were awarded to Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. for their match that took place on the eleventh night of the tourney.
The Kambi oddsmakers set this one at 4.75, so those who backed the 'Under' - if there happened to be any! - will have their wagers settled in their favour. As you'll see below, the eventual winner opened at 4/5 but rose to 11/10 before the market closed. You'll also see the customers thought it would do better than the linemaker as the price for the 'Over' dropped to 9/10 from 5/4 in the month that customers could bet on the market.
