NXT TakeOver 31 Observer Betting Results

Dave Meltzer's review of last Sunday's NXT TakeOver 31 was published in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This means that Kambi has now settled its Observer star ratings markets for the event.

Customers were able to wager on a couple of head-to-heads, props and over/unders for the show.

The match of the night was the main event which saw Finn Balor successfully retain the NXT Championship against Kyle O'Reilly. The bout received four-and-a-half stars from the newsletter editor.

The bout went up against 'Any Other Match' from Sunday's card in a head-to-head in which customers gambled on which - of the two matches - would get the most stars in the review.

As you'll see below, the winning selection started off as an 9/10 favourite when the market was first installed in late-September. By Saturday, the favourite's price  had lowered into 4/5.

The second head-to-head had the Damian Priest versus Johnny Gargano clash for the North American Championship compete against Io Shirai versus Candice LeRae.

Both of those matches received thee-and-three quarter stars. Therefore, the winning selection in Kambi's market was 'Same Star Rating', which was 2/1.

Three-and-three-quarter stars was the second-best amount of stars that was given by Meltzer in his review of the matches. With there being a a schism of three-quarters of a star between the top and the next best, a prop market - which asked customers to gamble whether or not the margin of victory would be half a star or higher between the top match and next best - was settled with 'Yes' as the winning pick.

The selection started off at EVS, but was up to 27/25 a day before the event.

NXT TakeOver 31: Observer Prop Bet

A second prop market, which asked customers whether there would be at least two matches with the highest number of stars in the review, was settled with 'No' winning as a 4/11 favourite.

Over/Under markets were released for all of the matches on Sunday's card. In all but one case, the 'X or More' selection was the winning selection. The exception was one of the lines for the North American Championship match.

The line for Damian Priest versus Johnny Gargano was first set at three-and-three quarters, but was moved up to four stars on Saturday. Therefore, the winning selections for that match are '3.75 Stars or More' or - for the later bettors - 'Under 4 Stars'.

All of the matches, their lines and results can be viewed in the table below.
