Dolphins Said, The Results Read : WWE SummerSlam 2014 Edition

The Reddit and Twitter user - Dolphins1925 - was back yesterday night to give out 'spoilers' for SummerSlam 2014. In this post, I'll go through what was announced and compare them with the betting lines.

The first tweet of the evening read:

My source has guaranteed me the leaks are back. The results for SummerSlam are listed below

What? The 'leaks' actually went away?

Here are the rest of his spoilers along with notes about what the odds were at the time they were announced.

Seth Rollins will defeat Dean Ambrose

The odds had Rollins as a -4,500 (1/45 UK) favourite.

Dolph Ziggler will defeat The Miz

Ziggler was -2,000 (1/20 UK) and ended up winning. He had been an underdog all the way through to the latter stages.

Roman Reigns will defeat Randy Orton

Reigns had been favoured since the SummerSlam betting markets were first published. He was heavily backed late in the day and was -6,000 (1/60 UK) when Dolphins revealed his name.

Paige will defeat AJ Lee

Smart money moved Paige into the role of fave at around 11pm BST. Her odds were -1,200 (1/12 UK) when the tweet was published.

Rusev will defeat Jack Swagger

Rusev was another name the smart money moved. He had been an outsider until late. He was -1,500 (1/15 UK) when Dolphins gave out the 'spoiler'.

Stephanie McMahon will defeat Brie Bella

The bettors were backing both selections throughout the weekend. When the insider money came along, McMahon's price shortened and was -2,000 (1/20 UK) at the time of the tweet.

Bray Wyatt will defeat Chris Jericho

To be fair, they didn't need betting odds to come up with that one. Chris Jericho is back to put Wyatt over. As Jericho won match one, it made sense for him to lose the second. For the record, Wyatt was -4,500 (1/45 UK) when Dolphins gave him away as a winner.

Brock Lesnar will defeat John Cena

Lesnar was -6,000 (1/60 UK) after the heavy money landed on him.

As you see, Dolphins' spoilers were in line with the betting odds once again. It's also worth noting that Dolphins did not announce a winner for the pre-show match. It would have been a blind pick as no sportsbook had marked up odds for the match. With the betting favourites winning, the casual observer would be tricked into believing Dolphins had inside information.
