Back To MITB 2016 Betting

After last night's diversion, where I went through a handful of brand extension betting markets, I think I should get back on track and concentrate on the Money in the Bank 2016 betting odds that are also available over at 888Sport.com, 32Red.com and Unibet.com.

The odds for this month's pay-per-view were republished yesterday. In this post, I'll go through the markets that have already been available and point out any differences since my last visit.

Firstly, it's worth noting the change in the Money in the Bank cash-in special where customers have the opportunity to bet on when the contract is executed.

The image below shows how the prices have changed over time.

I published a post on May 29th indicating that I felt an early cash-in was more likely now that WWE will be looking to make Smackdown a must see show once it goes live in July. The possible inclusion of a second world title could also end up making a cash-in anywhere between 'MITB but before SummerSlam' all the more possible. The odds being cut indicates that other customers are evidently thinking along the same lines.

As for the match itself, the traders now have seven selections on offer. They are the six men that are already confirmed for the match and Bray Wyatt.

The WWE website is still showing a shadow where the seventh man should be on its Money in the Bank website. I didn't notice it when watching this week's Raw, but I have read that the image shown on television no longer includes this shadow.

I have also read that Bray Wyatt is expected back to TVs next week, so I wouldn't rule out him being added just yet. The traders are evidently not counting him out either otherwise he'd be taken off the board just like all the other names that had been on their books since earlier on this year.

The new odds are as follows:

Kevin Owens 4/5
Dean Ambrose 5/2
Bray Wyatt 4/1
Cesaro 7/1
Chris Jericho 7/1
Sami Zayn 10/1
Alberto Del Rio 14/1

By looking at the previous numbers, the selections that have been backed are Kevin Owens (EVENS to 4/5), Dean Ambrose (3/1 to 5/2) and Alberto Del Rio (15/1 to 14/1). The options that have seen an increase in price are Cesaro (5/1 to 7/1) and Chris Jericho who has also moved out from 5s to 7s. The remaining two options have stuck.

The company is now only showing two options in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship market. They're obviously Roman Reigns (2/5) and Seth Rollins (7/4). Earlier this week, the firm was only taking bets on 'Titleholder at the end' of the PPV. AJ Styles (8/1), John Cena (14/1) and Triple H (25/1) were in the running alongside Reigns and Rollins.

There's also a new Money in the Bank special on the website. I'll go over that in an upcoming post.

Odds correct as of 9am and available from the following websites: 888Sport.com, 32Red.com and Unibet.com.

  2. It seems AJ vs Cena is on for MITB,I am strongly leaning to Cena will do the Job here,it s too much to a PPV losing streak for Styles ,I am expecting Styles opening odds having a nice valué,cause its Cena...gonna pull the trigger as soon as they open markets
    Just my 0.02

  3. I see Styles winning @ MITB, then returning the favor @ Battleground. The rubber match @ SummerSlam will then be for the new SD world title, where I think Styles takes it. I don't see them equaling Flair's 16th time world champion record any time soon.

    1. Dont be shocked to see the title match taking place on Smackdown because they're going to throw so much out there in the first few months.

As for not seeing Cena squalling Flair's 'record' - remember there will likely be a MITB winner looming and they could rain on Cena's parade.
