What Happens If Brock Lesnar Is Banned From SummerSlam 2016?

Brock Lesnar, or his representatives, will have to meet with the Nevada State Athletic Commission in Las Vegas to explain his failed USADA test. If the commission levies a suspension on the fighter and pro wrestler, it could throw The Beast's SummerSlam match against Randy Orton into jeopardy. This would ultimately cast doubt over some WWE bets that have been placed on the event.

The reason is the same as I had pointed out a while back when I considered the possibility that Lesnar was medically suspended - New York State governs professional wrestling.

If things do go awry, and Lesnar is forced out of the SummerSlam bout, customers that have bet on the 'Opponent For Brock Lesnar?' market should have their wagers refunded.

The rules of the market can be viewed below:

The final portion is the important part as it reads: 'Bets void if the listed competitor is not scheduled to participate in at least 1 sanctioned match at the start of the event.' Meaning, if the Lesnar is pulled from the card, bets will end up being voided on the day of the show. Not earlier.

If Brock Lesnar .vs. Randy Orton is quietly swept under the carpet, you won't lose out.

Sort of.

If you have 'Randy Orton' - and many of you do because the odds dropping from 14/1 to 8/1 indicate it - then you won't be as happy as the punters who went for somebody else to square off against Lesnar. The slate should be wiped clean on ALL bets.

I have a 'Randy Orton' betting slip of my own, so I'm in the camp holding out hope that the fight will still take place on August 21st.

The market had been available from 888Sport.com and this list of websites with WWE betting odds..
