2017 WWE Royal Rumble Betting : 2 Long Shots In The 1-4 Placing Market

With Finn Balor now one of my picks to win next year's WWE Royal Rumble, I thought I'd share with you two long shot bets that I placed earlier today.

I've backed Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to be in the final four of the Royal Rumble. Both were 40/1 each at the time I placed the bets. They were immediately cut to 25/1.

My reasoning is due to my belief that Finn Balor will win the battle royal.

If WWE does end up having Balor tied to The Club in some way - whether it be as antagonists or as allies - it would not surprise me to see one, or both, of them either attempt to eliminate or help Balor in the battle royal.

Another wrinkle to this is AJ Styles. If he is in the match, of course.

It was established on TV this week that 'The Club has expanded' meaning that Anderson and Gallows are representing the unit on Raw while Styles is doing so on Smackdown. The Royal Rumble match should have both brands competing in it, so that opens up the possibility that Styles will have some assistance in the form of his pals from the rival roster.

Styles is the number one heel on the Smackdown brand. Or if he isn't, he's very close to being so. He could be WWE Champion by the time the Rumble rolls around, so that will mean he won't feature in the battle royal. However, WWE could still play on The Club helping out Styles by being figurative gatekeepers that are trying to stop one of the babyface Smackdown wrestlers from winning the match to secure a title shot against their friend.

A lot can and will happen between now and late-January, but I thought it was worth one of my speculative punts on Anderson and Gallows making it to the final four. As I mentioned earlier in this post, I took them at 40s. 25/1 is still worth a shout.

The '1-4' pricing is found next to the outright Royal Rumble winner odds on the websites listed on this page.
